Islamabad: In order to ensure maximum revenue collection, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has requested the Government of Pakistan to exempt its officers and the field offices from the ongoing partial lockdown in the country due to the coronavirus disease.
The board has requested the government to keep its offices and staff operational in order to ensure maximum revenue collection in the last quarter i.e. April to June 2020.
The board has made an official circular in this regard to the concerned federal and provincial authorities. According to the FBR spokesperson, the government has ensured a partial lockdown in the country amid the COVID-19 outbreak to stop the viral spread which might prove to be a hindrance in the revenue collection.
It was also being reported that the FBR is going to revise the tax collection target; however, no official statement has been released as yet.
