Fate of residential projects remains in the dark due to the orders passed by the Punjab Government

The orders issued by the Service & General Administration Department Punjab have tied the hands of the officials who are required to give the go-ahead for the initiation of all such projects. The orders issued barred all the development authorities from regularizing the housing schemes. They cannot be regularized even if the housing schemes fall under their jurisdiction, in order to protect the green areas within the area.

The order issued earlier this month makes it clear that any official who fails to protect the green area within their jurisdiction will be abetted the offence and proceedings will be launched against them.

However, this order does not define what is considered a ‘green area’. This is why the officials who are not ready to lose their jobs yet have stopped the process of granting approval for the new housing projects in the city.

اس ماہ کے شروع میں جاری ہونے والے حکم نامے میں واضح کیا گیا ہے کہ جو بھی اہلکار اپنے دائرہ اختیار میں گرین ایریا کی حفاظت میں ناکام رہے گا اس کے خلاف کارروائی کی جائے گی۔
تاہم، یہ حکم اس بات کی وضاحت نہیں کرتا ہے کہ 'گرین ایریا' کیا سمجھا جاتا ہے۔ یہی وجہ ہے کہ وہ اہلکار جو ابھی تک اپنی ملازمت سے ہاتھ دھونے کو تیار نہیں ہیں، انہوں نے نئے ہاؤسنگ پراجیکٹس کی منظوری دینے کا عمل روک دیا ہے۔
