Excessive increase in the cost of Kareem Block Underpass

According to the details, due to rising inflation and increase in construction materials on the mega project, the cost of Karim Block underpass and flyover project has increased by Rs 200 million. The revised PC-1 was sent to the Punjab government by the LDA officials. With the increase of Rs. 200 million, the total estimated cost of construction reached Rs. 2.55 billion.

According to the revised PC-1, the rates increased by 31% while cement and asphalt rates increased by 17%. LDA project copy C1 had to be redesigned at actual rates.

The length of the underpass is expected to be not more than 1.6Km but the increase in inflation in the country has forced the authorities to approve the additional cost. The Underpass will resolve the traffic issues of Kareem block signal. This is one of the busiest roads of Lahore and long lanes of traffic jams here more often.

تفصیلات کے مطابق میگاپراجیکٹ پربڑھتی ہوئی مہنگائی اورتعمیراتی میٹریل میں اضافے کے باعث کریم بلاک انڈرپاس وفلائی اوورمنصوبےکی لاگت میں20کروڑکااضافہ ہوگیا۔ ایل ڈی اے حکام کی جانب سےنظرثانی شدہ پی سی ون حکومت پنجاب کوبھجوادیا گیا، 20کروڑ اضافے سے تعمیراتی لاگت کا مجموعی طورپرتخمینہ2ارب55کروڑ تک پہنچ گیا، ایل ڈی اے حکام نے ڈی جی ایل ڈی اے سے نظر ثانی شدہ پی سی ون بھجوانےکی منظوری لے لی ، نظر ثانی شدہ پی سی ون کے مطابق 31فیصدسریےجبکہ17فیصدسیمنٹ اوراسفالٹ کےریٹس میں اضافہ ہوا۔ ایل ڈی اےکومنصوبےکاپی سی ون حقیقی ریٹس کےمطابق دوبارہ تیارکرناپڑا۔

توقع ہے کہ انڈر پاس کی لمبائی 1.6 کلومیٹر سے زیادہ نہیں ہوگی لیکن ملک میں افراط زر میں اضافے نے حکام کو اضافی لاگت کی منظوری پر مجبور کردیا۔ انڈر پاس کریم بلاک سگنل کے ٹریفک کے مسائل حل کرے گا۔ یہ لاہور کی مصروف ترین سڑکوں میں سے ایک ہے اور یہاں اکثر کثرت سے ٹریفک جام رہتا ہے۔
