Early Establishment of Bahawalpur Industrial Estate

The delegation led by President Chamber of Commerce and Industries Tanveer Mahmood included Senior Vice President Ghulam Farid, Vice President Muneeb Malik, Seth Muhammad Arshad, Malik Ijaz Nazim, and Ishtiaq Basra.  Secretary Planning and Development South Punjab Syed Shoaib Iqbal, Secretary Agriculture Saqib Ali Ateeq, and Secretary Local Government and Community Development Altaf Baloch were also present on the occasion.

The delegation informed AIG about the problems faced by the industrialists on which he assured immediate solution of the problems and also issued instructions to the concerned departments on the spot. Talking to the delegation, South Punjab Additional Chief Secretary said that the land acquisition process for setting up South Punjab Secretariat in Bahawalpur was underway and soon the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chief Minister Punjab would lay the foundation stone. 

He told that suggestions had been sought from the concerned departments for connecting Bahawalpur with the motorway. He also said that a policy had been formulated to promote the local livestock sector in South Punjab.

The stock project will take steps to increase the quantity of milk and meat of local cattle and the livestock project in the Cholistan will provide a disease-free environment to the cattle and enable the production of meat and milk for international export. 

He vowed that facilities would be provided to the Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industries and investment would be promoted to end poverty and unemployment and people living in backward areas would enjoy the fruits of development equally.

صدر چیمبر آف کامرس اینڈ انڈسٹریز تنویر محمود کی سربراہی میں آئے وفد میں سینئر نائب صدر غلام فرید ، نائب صدر منیب ملک ، سیٹھ محمد ارشد ، ملک اعجاز ناظم اور اشتیاق بسرا شامل ہیں۔ اس موقع پر سکریٹری پلاننگ اینڈ ڈویلپمنٹ جنوبی پنجاب سید شعیب اقبال ، سیکرٹری زراعت ثاقب علی عتیق اور سکریٹری لوکل گورنمنٹ اینڈ کمیونٹی ڈویلپمنٹ الطاف بلوچ بھی موجود تھے۔

وفد نے اے آئی جی کو صنعتکاروں کو درپیش مشکلات سے آگاہ کیا جس پر انہوں نے فوری طور پر مسائل کے حل کی یقین دہانی کرائی اور موقع پر ہی متعلقہ محکموں کو ہدایات بھی جاری کیں۔ جنوبی پنجاب کے ایڈیشنل چیف سکریٹری نے وفد سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ بہاولپور میں جنوبی پنجاب سیکرٹریٹ کے قیام کے لئے اراضی کے حصول کا عمل جاری ہے اور جلد ہی وزیر اعظم پاکستان اور وزیراعلیٰ پنجاب سنگ بنیاد رکھیں گے۔

انہوں نے بتایا کہ بہاولپور کو موٹر وے سے منسلک کرنے کے لئے متعلقہ محکموں سے تجاویز طلب کی گئیں۔ انہوں نے یہ بھی کہا کہ جنوبی پنجاب میں لائیو اسٹاک سیکٹر کو فروغ دینے کے لئے ایک پالیسی بنائی گئی ہے۔

اسٹاک پروجیکٹ مقامی مویشیوں کے دودھ اور گوشت کی مقدار بڑھانے کے لئے اقدامات کرے گا اور چولستان میں مویشیوں کے منصوبے سے مویشیوں کو بیماری سے پاک ماحول فراہم کیا جا سکے گا اور بین الاقوامی برآمد کے لئے گوشت اور دودھ کی پیداوار قابل ہو گی۔

انہوں نے اس عزم کا اظہار کیا کہ بہاولپور چیمبر آف کامرس اینڈ انڈسٹریز کو سہولیات فراہم کی جائیں گی اور غربت اور بے روزگاری کے خاتمے کے لئے سرمایہ کاری کو فروغ دیا جائے گا اور پسماندہ علاقوں میں رہنے والے لوگ یکساں طور پر ترقی کے ثمرات سے لطف اندوز ہوں گے۔
