E&T Department upgraded online tax payment system

Director General Excise & Taxation (E&T) and Narcotics Control Sindh Muneer Ahmed Zardari have said that E&T Dept was in the process of further upgrading its online tax payment system which might not be ideal today but was much better than what it had been in the past and would improve further in the days to come when the taxpayers will be able to smoothly generate all their challans and submit taxes through the department’s online portal.

Speaking at a meeting during his visit to the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI). He said that the excise and taxation department pays special attention to the issues being faced by the Karachi Chamber as it was this Chamber whose members have been contributing a major chunk of revenue to the excise & taxation department.

Senior Vice President KCCI M. Saqib Goodluck, Vice President KCCI Shamsul Islam Khan, Chairman of KCCI’s Provincial & Local Taxes Subcommittee Tanveer Barry, Former Vice President Asif Sheikh Javed, KCCI Managing Committee Members and representatives of various commercial markets were also present at the meeting.

DG E&T assured that the department was trying its best to facilitate taxpayers by focusing on expediting numerous procedures while efforts were being made to clear the huge backlog of vehicles’ registration number plates that have not been issued.

Senior Vice President Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry Saqib Goodluck, while welcoming DG Excise & Taxation, stated that E&T Dept was the main revenue collecting agency of the Government of Sindh which collects Property Tax, Professional Tax, Infrastructure Cess, Motor Registration Fee, and Tax, Hotel Tax, Excise Duty, Cotton Fee, and Entertainment Duty but the taxpayers have been constantly facing issues in submitting these taxes due to cumbersome procedures and excessive documentation which have to be simplified.

محکمہ ایکسائز اینڈ ٹیکسیشن نے اب اپنے آن لائن ٹیکس ادائیگی کے طریقہ کار کو اپ گریڈ کیا ہے۔

ڈائریکٹر جنرل ایکسائز اینڈ ٹیکسیشن (ای اینڈ ٹی) اور منشیات کنٹرول سندھ منیر احمد زرداری نے کہا ہے کہ ای اینڈ ٹی ڈیپارٹمنٹ اپنے آن لائن ٹیکس کی ادائیگی کے نظام کو مزید اپ گریڈ کرنے کے عمل میں ہے جو آج کے دور میں مثالی نہیں ہوگا لیکن ماضی میں اس سے کہیں بہتر تھا۔ اور آنے والے دنوں میں مزید بہتری آئے گی جب ٹیکس دہندگان آسانی سے اپنے تمام چالان تیار کرسکیں گے اور محکمہ کے آن لائن پورٹل کے ذریعہ ٹیکس جمع کرائیں گے۔

کراچی چیمبر آف کامرس اینڈ انڈسٹری (کے سی سی آئی) کے اپنے دورے کے موقع پر اجلاس سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ محکمہ ایکسائز اینڈ ٹیکسیشن کراچی چیمبر کو درپیش مسائل پر خصوصی توجہ دیتا ہے کیونکہ یہ چیمبر ہی تھا جس کے ممبران محکمہ ایکسائز اینڈ ٹیکسیشن کو محصول میں بہت زیادہ حصہ ڈال رہے ہیں۔

سینئر نائب صدر کے سی سی آئی ایم ثاقب گڈلک ، نائب صدر کے سی سی آئی شمس الاسلام خان ، کے سی سی آئی کے صوبائی و لوکل ٹیکس سب کمیٹی کے چیئرمین تنویر بیری ، سابق نائب صدر آصف شیخ جاوید ، کے سی سی آئی کی منیجنگ کمیٹی کے ممبران اور مختلف تجارتی منڈیوں کے نمائندے بھی موجود تھے۔ .

ڈی جی ای اینڈ ٹی نے یقین دہانی کرائی کہ محکمہ متعدد طریقہ کار میں تیزی لانے پر فوکس کرتے ہوئے ٹیکس دہندگان کی سہولت کے لئے پوری کوشش کر رہا ہے جبکہ گاڑیوں کے رجسٹریشن نمبر پلیٹوں کی بڑی تعداد کو ختم کرنے کی کوشش کی جارہی ہے جو جاری نہیں ہوئی ہے۔

سینئر نائب صدر کراچی چیمبر آف کامرس اینڈ انڈسٹری ثاقب گڈ لک نے ڈی جی ایکسائز اینڈ ٹیکسیشن کا خیرمقدم کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ای اینڈ ٹی ڈیپارٹمنٹ حکومت سندھ کی اصل محصول وصول کرنے والی ایجنسی ہے جو پراپرٹی ٹیکس ، پیشہ ورانہ ٹیکس ، انفراسٹرکچر سیس ، موٹر رجسٹریشن فیس اور ٹیکس جمع کرتی ہے۔ ، ہوٹل ٹیکس ، ایکسائز ڈیوٹی ، کاٹن فیس ، اور انٹرٹینمنٹ ڈیوٹی لیکن ٹیکس دہندگان کو بوجھل طریقہ کار اور ضرورت سے زیادہ دستاویزات کی وجہ سے یہ ٹیکس جمع کروانے میں مستقل طور پر مسائل کا سامنا کرنا پڑتا ہے جس کو آسان بنانا پڑتا ہے۔
