Karachi: The water supply line has been damaged at Gulshan-e-Iqbal and since then, the supply of water across the metropolis has been disrupted, causing water shortage in many areas of the city.
The 84-inch line has burst on Monday when the staff of K-Electric (KE) was digging deep down to lay underground cables. Since then, the repairing work of the line is in progress, disturbing water distribution across the city.
In this stance, KWSB (Karachi Water and Sewerage Board) expressed their views to a news source telling the disruption has caused a water distribution problem in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. He further explained that the staff of KE was digging near the grid station of K-Electric in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 19 when the 84-inch water line was hit by mistake causing chaos in the city.
Just after the incident, the staff of KWSB reached on the spot to analyze the situation and the damage done. They quickly cut down the water supply to the line to stop water burst and wastage on the road. As per the sources of KWSB, the staff is working day and night to repair the damage and they expect the water supply will soon resume.
