Delegation of Bishops Donates PKR 5.6 Million for Dams Fund in a Meeting with Imran Khan

This delegation of Bishops comprised of President of Pakistan Catholic Bishops; Archbishop Joseph Arshad, Bishop of Lahore; Archbishop Sebastian Francis Shaw, Bishop of Multan; Bishop Benny Travis, Bishop-Elect of Faisalabad; Inderias Rehmat and John Philip.

Prime Minister Imran Khan reiterated and restated the commitment of the government that they will do every possible effort to address every minor as well as major concerns and issues of the minority community of the country.

During the meeting, the delegation presented a cheque to Imran Khan, the Prime Minister worth PKR 5,650,000 as dam funds and asked PM to deposit it in Supreme Court of Pakistan and the Prime Minister of Pakistan Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dams Fund on the behalf of their community i.e. Pakistan Catholic Bishops Conference.

This contribution amount is made by seven Catholic Dioceses in Pakistan including Karachi, Hyderabad, Quetta, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore and Faisalabad.

Currently, the funds gathered for the dam is PKR 53,596,508 and with this donation, the amount reaches to PKR 59,246,508. The graph of donation is getting each and every day as people residing in Pakistan are contributing whole-heartedly and with passion. People who are residing in foreign countries are also contributing for the cause as everyone understands the importance of the construction of the new dam and how the dam can be useful for water reservation and helping the people of Pakistan.

The inauguration for the construction of the dam has already been done by Prime Minister Imran Khan and former Supreme Court Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar.
