CPEC holds great Significance for Pakistan

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Industries and Production Muhammad Hammad Azhar chaired a meeting regarding economic and industrial cooperation under China Pakistan Economic Cooperation (CPEC) at the Finance Division today.

Federal Minister for Privatization Muhammad Mian Soomro, Chairman CPEC Authority Lt. Gen (R) Asim Saleem Bajwa, His Excellency Ambassador of the Peoples Republic of China Mr. Nong Rong, Federal Secretary Finance Division, and Federal Secretary Privatization Commission participated in the meeting. In his opening remarks, Minister for Finance and Revenue Hammad Azhar stated that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is of utmost importance for Pakistan.

It will enable the country to enhance industrial production, upgrade energy and communication infrastructure and improve connectivity with the region. The CPEC would generate abundant employment and investment opportunities in Pakistan and beyond, he added.

Speaking on the occasion, the H.E. Chinese Ambassador outlined that CPEC is of immense importance for the Chinese companies and will expand and strengthen economic cooperation for achieving common objectives and guarantee a prosperous future for both nations.

The Finance Minister stressed the need for the early completion of projects falling under the umbrella of CPEC.

Time is of the essence in meeting project deadlines so that the economic benefits could reach the people of both the countries and contribute towards overall economic growth and development, he stressed. The Chairman CPEC Authority assured full support and assistance to the Chinese Ambassador for expediting progress in the communication and transportation sectors on the occasion.

وزیر خزانہ اور محصول برائے حمد حماد اظہر نے بیان کیا کہ چین پاکستان اقتصادی راہداری (سی پی ای سی) پاکستان کے لئے انتہائی اہمیت کا حامل ہے۔

وفاقی وزیر خزانہ و محصول ، صنعت و پیداوار محمد حمد اظہر کی زیر صدارت آج فنانس ڈویژن میں چین پاکستان اقتصادی تعاون (سی پی ای سی) کے تحت اقتصادی اور صنعتی تعاون کے حوالے سے اجلاس ہوا۔

وفاقی وزیر برائے نجکاری محمد میاں سومرو ، چیئرمین سی پی ای سی اتھارٹی لیفٹیننٹ جنرل (ر) عاصم سلیم باجوہ ، عوامی جمہوریہ چین کے اعزازی سفیر مسٹر نونگ رونگ ، وفاقی سیکرٹری خزانہ ڈویژن اور وفاقی سیکرٹری نجکاری کمیشن نے اجلاس میں شرکت کی۔ وزیر خزانہ اور محصول برائے محصول حماد اظہر نے اپنے افتتاحی کلمات میں کہا کہ چین پاکستان اقتصادی راہداری (سی پی ای سی) پاکستان کے لئے انتہائی اہمیت کا حامل ہے۔

اس سے ملک صنعتی پیداوار کو بڑھانے ، توانائی اور مواصلات کے بنیادی ڈھانچے کو اپ گریڈ کرنے اور خطے کے ساتھ رابطے کو بہتر بنانے میں مدد دے گا۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ سی پی ای سی پاکستان اور اس سے باہر پاکستان میں روزگار اور سرمایہ کاری کے وسیع مواقع پیدا کرے گا۔

اس موقع پر خطاب کرتے ہوئے ، ایچ ای چینی سفیر نے واضح کیا کہ سی پی ای سی چینی کمپنیوں کے لئے بے حد اہمیت کا حامل ہے اور مشترکہ مقاصد کے حصول کے لئے معاشی تعاون کو وسعت اور تقویت بخشے گا اور دونوں ممالک کے خوشحال مستقبل کی ضمانت دے گا۔

وزیر خزانہ نے سی پی ای سی کی چھتری میں آنے والے منصوبوں کی جلد تکمیل کی ضرورت پر زور دیا۔

انہوں نے زور دے کر کہا کہ منصوبے کی ڈیڈ لائن کو پورا کرنے میں وقت کا بنیادی جوہر ہے تاکہ معاشی فوائد دونوں ممالک کے عوام تک پہنچ سکیں اور مجموعی معاشی نمو اور ترقی میں اپنا کردار ادا کرسکیں۔ چیئرمین سی پی ای سی اتھارٹی نے اس موقع پر مواصلات اور ٹرانسپورٹ کے شعبوں میں پیشرفت میں تیزی لانے کیلئے چینی سفیر کو مکمل مدد اور مدد کی یقین دہانی کرائی۔
