CPEC, CSR projects in Gwadar; reviewed and appreciated

Chairman Gwadar Port, emphasized the importance of satisfying the residents of Gwadar and urged bringing the locals back together through CSR. He said that drinking water and electricity were the top priorities for the Gwadar authorities.

Multiple steps are being taken to prioritize the local communities of Gwadar. A desalination plant is currently in the works which will become operational in six months, capable of providing 1.2 million gallons of water. A state-of-the-art Pak-China Vocational and Technical Training Institute have also been initiated which will be responsible for providing three years of training to the local youth. Added to that, around 3,000 solar panels have also been provided to the poorest communities in Gwadar.

The short-term strategy for the project includes the provision of water and electricity to the city in five months. Trading and corporation of Pakistan have also been authorized to import one-third of cargoes at Gwadar and lastly the completion of the M-8 motorway.

The long-term strategy focuses on building LNG and POL terminals at Gwadar port and ensuring the availability of electricity, water, and gas to enable phase-2 expansion of the port

گوادر کی مقامی آبادیوں کو ترجیح دینے کے لیے متعدد اقدامات کیے جا رہے ہیں۔ ایک ڈی سیلینیشن پلانٹ پر کام جاری ہے جو چھ ماہ میں فعال ہو جائے گا، جو 1.2 ملین گیلن پانی فراہم کرنے کی صلاحیت رکھتا ہے۔ ایک جدید ترین پاک چائنہ ووکیشنل اینڈ ٹیکنیکل ٹریننگ انسٹی ٹیوٹ بھی شروع کیا گیا ہے جو مقامی نوجوانوں کو تین سال کی تربیت فراہم کرنے کا ذمہ دار ہوگا۔ اس کے ساتھ ساتھ گوادر میں غریب ترین طبقات کو تقریباً 3000 سولر پینل بھی فراہم کیے گئے ہیں۔
منصوبے کی مختصر مدتی حکمت عملی میں پانچ ماہ میں شہر کو پانی اور بجلی کی فراہمی شامل ہے۔ ٹریڈنگ اور کارپوریشن آف پاکستان کو گوادر میں کارگوز کا ایک تہائی درآمد کرنے اور آخر کار M-8 موٹر وے کی تکمیل کا بھی اختیار دیا گیا ہے۔
طویل مدتی حکمت عملی گوادر بندرگاہ پر ایل این جی اور پی او ایل ٹرمینلز کی تعمیر اور بندرگاہ کے فیز 2 کی توسیع کے لیے بجلی، پانی اور گیس کی دستیابی کو یقینی بنانے پر مرکوز ہے۔
