Rawalpindi: The construction work for the Rawalpindi Ring Road was started on Monday by the Frontier Works Organization, reported a news source.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held, which was cut by the chairman of Rawalpindi Development Authority.
The chairman, Tariq Mehmood Murtaza revealed the set time frame for the construction to be of 2 years. It would be a 38.3 km long main carriageway from Baanth (N-5) to Thallian (M-2) under the Rawalpindi Ring Road project.
He further added that the RDA had awarded the contract of the Rawalpindi Ring Road to the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) which is worth Rs. 22.8 billion. FWO has been assigned to complete this project within the shortest time frame possible.

چیئرمین طارق محمود مرتضیٰ نے بتایا کہ تعمیر کے لیے مقررہ مدت 2 سال ہوگی۔ یہ راولپنڈی رنگ روڈ منصوبے کے تحت بانٹھ (این-5) سے تھلیاں (ایم-2) تک 38.3 کلومیٹر طویل مین کیریج وے ہوگا۔
انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ آر ڈی اے نے راولپنڈی رنگ روڈ کا ٹھیکہ فرنٹیئر ورکس آرگنائزیشن (ایف ڈبلیو او) کو دیا تھا جس کی مالیت 22.8 بلین روپے ہے۔ ایف ڈبلیو او کو اس منصوبے کو کم سے کم وقت کے اندر مکمل کرنے کے لیے تفویض کیا گیا ہے۔
