Construction work of Kutchery Chowk project to start in January

According to the news sources, RDA Chairman stated that the Kutcherry Chowk and Defence Chowk projects will be launched in order to benefit citizens and ensure a smooth flow of traffic on both chowks. He noted that the Kutcherry Chowk project will cost Rs3.8 billion to complete, while the Defence Chowk project would cost Rs2.1 billion to complete.

The Kutcherry Chowk project will begin in the first week of next month, and after it is completed, the Defence Chowk project will begin.

The Ammar Chowk underpass project, according to the Chairman, was envisaged nearly 12 years ago but the building could not be started.

The incumbent Punjab government released the funds and the project was completed under the supervision of RDA and Station Headquarters, he added. In view of the growing population and traffic congestion, the project had undergone some significant changes, including the addition of twin underpasses, undergrounding of H.T and L.T cables, and addition of a new service line and reinforced earth panel.

Steps would also be taken to make the surrounding area clean and green, he informed. During the construction work, the authorities concerned took all possible steps to ensure that the people have the least difficulty and do not have to worry about restricted mobility.

نیوز ذرائع کے مطابق چیئرمین آر ڈی اے نے کہا کہ کچری چوک اور ڈیفنس چوک کے منصوبے شروع کیے جائیں گے تاکہ شہریوں کو فائدہ ہو اور دونوں چوکوں پر ٹریفک کی روانی کو یقینی بنایا جا سکے۔ انہوں نے بتایا کہ کچری چوک منصوبے کی تکمیل پر 3.8 بلین روپے لاگت آئے گی، جبکہ ڈیفنس چوک منصوبے کو مکمل کرنے پر 2.1 بلین روپے لاگت آئے گی۔
کچری چوک منصوبہ اگلے ماہ کے پہلے ہفتے میں شروع ہو گا اور اس کے مکمل ہونے کے بعد ڈیفنس چوک منصوبہ شروع ہو جائے گا۔
چیئرمین کے مطابق عمار چوک انڈر پاس کا منصوبہ تقریباً 12 سال قبل تصور کیا گیا تھا لیکن عمارت شروع نہیں ہو سکی۔
انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ موجودہ حکومت پنجاب نے فنڈز جاری کیے اور یہ منصوبہ آر ڈی اے اور سٹیشن ہیڈ کوارٹرز کی نگرانی میں مکمل ہوا۔ بڑھتی ہوئی آبادی اور ٹریفک کے ہجوم کے پیش نظر، اس منصوبے میں کچھ اہم تبدیلیاں کی گئی ہیں، جن میں جڑواں انڈر پاسز کا اضافہ، (ایچ ۔ ٹی) اور (ایل ۔ ٹی) کیبلز کا انڈر گراؤنڈ کرنا، اور ایک نئی سروس لائن اور مضبوط ارتھ پینل کا اضافہ شامل ہے۔
انہوں نے بتایا کہ ارد گرد کے علاقے کو صاف ستھرا اور سرسبز بنانے کے لیے بھی اقدامات کیے جائیں گے۔ تعمیراتی کام کے دوران، متعلقہ حکام نے اس بات کو یقینی بنانے کے لیے تمام ممکنہ اقدامات کیے کہ لوگوں کو کم سے کم دشواری کا سامنا کرنا پڑے اور انہیں نقل و حرکت پر پابندی سے پریشانی نہ ہو۔
