Islamabad: Federal Minister Murad Saeed has said that the construction work on the western route of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has started.
He further said that the construction is being done fast by the builders on CPEC and new projects are also being introduced. |Government has approved DI Khan-Zhob road under CPEC western route which was demanded by the smaller provinces”, Murad Saeed.
Murad Saeed also informed that the tender for Hyderabad and Sukkur Motorways would also be held this year, 1800 roads would be constructed without burdening the national exchequer, and the area located on Grand Trunk (GT) road would also be connected with the motorways.
He stated that with the contrast of how much money the previous governments spent on roads, we are spending less amount of money on the construction of roads. Roads are being constructed under public-private partnerships.
The construction projects in Sindh, South Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) were the government's priority and are being done speedily. 57 new construction projects have become a part of this year’s Public Sector Development Program. Work in Havelian, Thakot, Multan, and Sukkur routes was completed on a priority basis and now Peshawar to DI Khan motorway will be constructed.
