Construction industry to be facilitated for wealth creation: PM

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of a three-day ICCI Pakistan Property, Housing, and Construction Expo 2021, the prime minister said the government had removed many impediments though some more obstacles were still confronting the construction sector.

Minister of State for Information Farrukh Habib, PM’s special assistant Shahbaz Gill, Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority Chairman retired Lt Gen Anwar Ali Haider and Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Sardar Yasir Ilyas attended the event.

The expo featured the pavilions of commercial banks, Board of Investment, State Bank of Pakistan, companies and businesses related to the construction industry, including real estate developers, marketing firms, cement, marble, tiles, electronics, cable and many others. Educational institutes also have presence there as the event also aims to promote industry-academia linkage.

The prime minister, who took a round of the expo, urged the business sector to ensure availability of raw material of the construction industry to reduce the country’s import bill.

The prime minister emphasised on sustainable ways of achieving economic recovery, growth and development as critical during the pandemic. He said that with relentless efforts towards ending poverty in all its manifestations, extreme poverty had been steadily declining over the past two decades.

Mr Khan termed China a role model for developing countries in poverty alleviation. “China’s remarkable growth has brought 800 million people out of poverty over the past four decades,” he said.

He lauded China’s leadership role in climate change and commended President Xi’s vision of a prosperous, clean and beautiful world and initiative to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.

اسلام آباد: وزیراعظم عمران خان نے ملک کی برآ��دات بڑھانے کے لیے تعمیراتی صنعت کو سہولیات فراہم کرنے کے لیے اپنی حکومت کے عزم کا اعادہ کیا ہے۔

تین روزہ آئی سی سی آئی پاکستان پراپرٹی ، ہاؤسنگ اینڈ کنسٹرکشن ایکسپو 2021 کی افتتاحی تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے وزیر اعظم نے کہا کہ حکومت نے بہت سی رکاوٹیں دور کر دی ہیں حالانکہ کچھ اور رکاوٹیں اب بھی تعمیراتی شعبے کو درپیش ہیں۔

وزیر مملکت برائے اطلاعات فرخ حبیب ، وزیراعظم کے معاون خصوصی شہباز گل ، نیا پاکستان ہاؤسنگ اینڈ ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی کے چیئرمین ریٹائرڈ لیفٹیننٹ جنرل انور علی حیدر اور اسلام آباد چیمبر آف کامرس اینڈ انڈسٹری کے صدر سردار یاسر الیاس نے تقریب میں شرکت کی۔

ایکسپو میں کمرشل بینکوں ، بورڈ آف انویسٹمنٹ ، اسٹیٹ بینک آف پاکستان ، تعمیراتی صنعت سے متعلقہ کمپنیاں اور کاروبار شامل تھے ، جن میں رئیل اسٹیٹ ڈویلپرز ، مارکیٹنگ فرمز ، سیمنٹ ، ماربل ، ٹائلز ، الیکٹرانکس ، کیبل اور کئی دیگر شامل تھے۔ تعلیمی اداروں کی بھی وہاں موجودگی ہے کیونکہ ایونٹ کا مقصد انڈسٹری اور اکیڈمیا تعلق کو فروغ دینا ہے۔

وزیر اعظم ، جنہوں نے ایکسپو کا ایک چکر لگایا ، کاروباری شعبے پر زور دیا کہ وہ ملک کے درآمدی بل کو کم کرنے کے لیے تعمیراتی صنعت کے خام مال کی دستیابی کو یقینی بنائے۔

وزیر اعظم نے وبائی امراض کے دوران معاشی بحالی ، نمو اور ترقی کے حصول کے پائیدار طریقوں پر زور دیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ غربت کو اس کے تمام مظہروں کے خاتمے کے لیے انتھک کوششوں کے ساتھ ، پچھلی دو دہائیوں میں انتہائی غربت میں مسلسل کمی آرہی ہے۔

مسٹر خان نے چین کو غربت کے خاتمے میں ترقی پذیر ممالک کے لیے ایک رول ماڈل قرار دیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ چین کی قابل ذکر ترقی نے گزشتہ چار دہائیوں میں 800 ملین افراد کو غربت سے باہر نکالا ہے۔

انہوں نے موسمیاتی تبدیلی میں چین کے قائدانہ کردار کو سراہا اور صدر شی کے خوشحال ، صاف اور خوبصورت دنیا کے وژن اور 2060 تک کاربن غیر جانبداری کے حصول کے اقدام کو سراہا۔
