Co-op housing societies won’t be allowed to use state institutions’ names anymore

According to the news sources, 24 cooperative housing societies have been asked to change their names for three weeks or face strict action.

According to the news sources, the latest move came from the high court this week. The civic body wrote to Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat on Friday to order the circle registrar of Cooperative Housing Societies to ensure the implementation of these directives.

While talking to the media, the CDA spokesperson said that as per their understanding, the deputy commissioner would issue orders to the circle registrar Cooperative Housing Societies tomorrow.

Including retired government officials, into a false sense of security invest in these housing schemes, since they think that their investment would be safe in a housing society affiliated with a state institution. However, there have been several instances where such individuals are defrauded out of their life savings by illegal housing societies using the names of state institutions.

However, it has been observed that many investors only have the files of their plots in hand but have not been handed over possession of their land.

CDA spokesperson further added that the civic agency has issued a notification stating that cooperative housing societies were not allowed to use the name of government entities so they have to change their names.

Deputy Commissioner Shafqaat has been advised to direct the circle registrar Housing Societies to issue notices to such societies to change their names within three weeks.

While talking to the media, CDA Spokesperson Asif Shah said there were around 40 cooperative housing societies currently operating in Islamabad.

نیوز ذرائع کے مطابق ہائی کورٹ کی جانب سے اس ہفتے تازہ ترین اقدام سامنے آیا ہے۔ شہری ادارے نے جمعہ کو ڈپٹی کمشنر حمزہ شفقت کو خط لکھا کہ کوآپریٹو ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیز کے سرکل رجسٹرار کو ان ہدایات پر عمل درآمد کو یقینی بنانے کا حکم دیا جائے۔
میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے سی ڈی اے کے ترجمان نے کہا کہ ان کی سمجھ کے مطابق ڈپٹی کمشنر کل سرکل رجسٹرار کوآپریٹو ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیز کو احکامات جاری کریں گے۔
ریٹائرڈ سرکاری افسران سمیت، سیکورٹی کے غلط احساس میں ان ہاؤسنگ اسکیموں میں سرمایہ کاری کرتے ہیں، کیونکہ وہ سمجھتے ہیں کہ ان کی سرمایہ کاری کسی ریاستی ادارے سے وابستہ ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹی میں محفوظ ہوگی۔ تاہم، ایسے کئی واقعات سامنے آئے ہیں جب ایسے افراد ریاستی اداروں کا نام استعمال کر کے غیر قانونی ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیز کے ذریعے اپنی زندگی کی بچت سے دھوکہ کھا چکے ہیں۔
تاہم، یہ دیکھا گیا ہے کہ بہت سے سرمایہ کاروں کے پاس صرف اپنے پلاٹوں کی فائلیں ہیں لیکن انہیں ان کی زمین کا قبضہ نہیں دیا گیا ہے۔
سی ڈی اے کے ترجمان نے مزید کہا کہ شہری ایجنسی نے ایک نوٹیفکیشن جاری کیا ہے جس میں کہا گیا ہے کہ کوآپریٹو ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیوں کو سرکاری اداروں کا نام استعمال کرنے کی اجازت نہیں ہے لہذا انہیں اپنے نام تبدیل کرنا ہوں گے۔
ڈپٹی کمشنر شفقت کو ہدایت کی گئی ہے کہ وہ سرکل رجسٹرار ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیز کو ہدایت کریں کہ وہ ایسی سوسائٹیوں کو تین ہفتوں میں اپنے نام تبدیل کرنے کے نوٹس جاری کریں۔
