CM Usman Buzdar lays foundation stone of Sheranwala Gate Flyover

The flyover would be completed at a cost of Rs. 5 billion. The flyover would be named after the patron saint of Lahore, Hazrat Ali Hajveri (Data Gang Bakhsh), announced the CM.

Talking about how the flyover connects to the rich history of Lahore, Usman Buzdar said that Sheranwala Gate was situated on the periphery of historic places like Lahore Fort, Minar-e-Pakistan, and the Shrine of Hazrat Ali Hajveri. He said the flyover connects the new and walled city.

“There was a dire need to initiate development work in the walled city,” said CM Buzdar. “This 4th project was imperative to overcome traffic issues. Lala Shahbaz Qalandar Underpass has been completed, Gulab Devi Underpass will be completed before time and the Shahkam Chowk overhead bridge project is being completed speedily,” he highlighted, adding that the government had completed development schemes worth billions of rupees in Lahore.

The new flyover will facilitate 1.30 lakh vehicles every day. According to reports, parking plazas will also be constructed around Sheranwala Gate and in other areas of Lahore where needed.

فلائی اوور 5 ارب روپے کی لاگت سے مکمل کیا جائے گا۔
وزیراعلیٰ نے اعلان کیا کہ فلائی اوور کا نام لاہور کے سرپرست اعلیٰ حضرت علی ہجویری (داتا گنج بخش) کے نام پر رکھا جائے گا۔

فلائی اوور لاہور کی بھرپور تاریخ سے کیسے جڑتا ہے اس کے بارے میں بات کرتے ہوئے عثمان بزدار نے کہا کہ شیرانوالہ گیٹ لاہور قلعہ ، مینار پاکستان اور حضرت علی ہجویری کے مزار جیسے تاریخی مقامات کے دائرے پر واقع تھا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ فلائی اوور نئے اور دیواروں والے شہر کو جوڑتا ہے۔
وزیراعلیٰ بزدار نے کہا کہ دیواروں والے شہر میں ترقیاتی کام شروع کرنے کی اشد ضرورت ہے۔ یہ چوتھا منصوبہ ٹریفک کے مسائل پر قابو پانے کے لیے ضروری تھا۔ لالہ شہباز قلندر انڈر پاس مکمل ہو چکا ہے ، گلاب دیوی انڈر پاس وقت سے پہلے مکمل ہو جائے گا اور شاہکم چوک اوور ہیڈ برج منصوبہ تیزی سے مکمل کیا جا رہا ہے۔
نیا فلائی اوور روزانہ 1.30 لاکھ گاڑیوں کی سہولت فراہم کرے گا۔ اطلاعات کے مطابق شیرانوالہ گیٹ اور لاہور کے دیگر علاقوں میں جہاں ضرورت ہو وہاں پارکنگ پلازے بھی تعمیر کیے جائیں گے۔
