CM starts spring tree plantation drive in KP

Mahmood Khan, the Chief Minister has initiated the spring tree plantation drive in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and he inaugurated the drive with the plantation of an olive sapling in the Chief Minister`s house on his lawn. 

While speaking to the media, he said that every individual should take part in the spring tree plantation drive so that the target of the plantation of as many trees as possible can be conveniently and rapidly achieved at the national level.

The provincial government has told that they have succeeded in achieving the target of planting one billion trees in the previous five years under one billion tree projects and it was appreciated a lot and highly recognized internationally. 

Now under the 10 billion tree tsunami project (BTTP), more than one billion saplings` plantations took place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The chief minister said that the plantation of trees was carried out keeping in mind sustainable forestry development, climate change, reduction of pressure over the existing natural forest, and creation of job opportunities.

He further mentioned that under the spring tree plantation campaign, 250 million saplings will be planted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. While they will also become part of the 10 billion tree projects at the national level. The target of the plantation of about 382 million trees has been set by the provincial government, for the years 2020 and 2021.

Moreover, about 132 million sapling trees were planted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the monsoon tree-planting campaign the previous year while about 300 million saplings are planted by now under this project. 

It has made clear that during this campaign, special attention was been given to the plantation of olive trees.

محمود خان ، وزیراعلیٰ نے خیبرپختونخوا میں بہار کے درخت لگانے کی مہم کا آغاز کیا ہے اور انہوں نے اپنے لان پر وزیر اعلی کے گھر میں زیتون کے پودے لگانے سے اس مہم کا افتتاح کیا۔

میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے کہا کہ ہر فرد کو بہار کے درختوں کی شجرکاری مہم میں بڑھ چڑھ کر حصہ لینا چاہئے تاکہ زیادہ سے زیادہ درختوں کے پودے لگانے کا ہدف قومی سطح پر آسانی سے اور تیزی سے حاصل کیا جاسکے۔

صوبائی حکومت نے بتایا ہے کہ وہ پچھلے پانچ سالوں میں ایک ارب درختوں کے منصوبوں کے تحت ایک ارب درخت لگانے کے ہدف کو حاصل کرنے میں کامیاب ہوئے ہیں اور بین الاقوامی سطح پر اس کی بے حد تعریف کی گئی ہے۔

اب 10 ارب درخت سونامی منصوبے (بی ٹی ٹی پی) کے تحت خیبر پختونخوا میں ایک ارب سے زیادہ پودوں کی شجرکاری ہوئی۔ وزیراعلیٰ نے کہا کہ درختوں کی کاشت کا کام پائیدار جنگلات کی ترقی ، آب و ہوا کی تبدیلی ، موجودہ قدرتی جنگل پر دباؤ میں کمی ، اور ملازمت کے مواقع پیدا کرنے کو مدنظر رکھتے ہوئے کیا گیا ہے۔

انہوں نے مزید بتایا کہ موسم بہار کے درخت لگانے کی مہم کے تحت خیبر پختونخوا میں 250 ملین پودے لگائے جائیں گے۔ جبکہ وہ قومی سطح پر 10 ارب درختوں کے منصوبوں کا بھی حصہ بنیں گے۔ سال 2020 اور 2021 کے لئے ، صوبائی حکومت کی طرف سے لگ بھگ 382 ملین درختوں کے پودے لگانے کا ہدف مقرر کیا گیا ہے۔

مزید یہ کہ پچھلے سال مون سون کے درخت لگانے کی مہم میں خیبرپختونخوا میں لگ بھگ 132 ملین پودا لگائے گئے تھے جبکہ اس منصوبے کے تحت اب تک لگ بھگ 300 ملین پودے لگائے گئے ہیں۔

اس نے واضح کیا ہے کہ اس مہم کے دوران زیتون کے درخت لگانے پر خصوصی توجہ دی گئی تھی۔
