CM Buzdar directs to speed up work on Ravi Urban Development project

He was chairing a meeting of the Ravi Urban Development Authority in Lahore on Tuesday to reviewed progress on the project. CM expressed satisfaction with the progress of the project and was directed to speed up the pace of the work on it.

 He also said that in the first phase of the Ravi River-Front Urban Development Project, 44-thousand-acre land has been selected and an industrial zone on 6 thousand acres of land would also be established beside the construction of three barrages having the storage capacity of 6 lakhs cusec water.

The Punjab chief minister said the project would be eco-friendly as 60 lakhs samplings would also be planted which would help to significantly reduce environmental pollution. He further directed to complete the land acquisition work as soon as possible keeping in view all the rules and regulations.

Usman Buzdar emphasized that the project would have a great attraction for foreign investment and also be showcased in Dubai Expo.

He said Ravi River-Front Urban Development Project is a unique one in the world to be built on the bank of the river as it would prove to be a game-changer, leading to open up new avenues of development.

Chief Executive Officer Ravi Urban Development Authority Imran Amin briefed about the progress and land acquisition matters of the project.

Provincial Minister Housing Asad Khokhar, Chief Secretary, SMBR, Secretary Housing, Chairman P&D, Principal Secretary to CM, Secretary Finance, Commissioner Lahore Division, Head of Special Monitoring Unit, and other relevant officers attended the meeting.

لاہور: وزیراعلیٰ پنجاب عثمان بزدار نے راوی اربن ڈویلپمنٹ منصوبے پر کام تیز کرنے کی ہدایت کی ہے۔

وہ منگل کو لاہور میں راوی اربن ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی کے ایک اجلاس کی صدارت کر رہے تھے تاکہ اس منصوبے پر پیش رفت کا جائزہ لیا جا سکے۔ وزیراعلیٰ نے منصوبے کی پیش رفت پر اطمینان کا اظہار کیا اور اس پر کام کی رفتار کو تیز کرنے کی ہدایت کی۔

انہوں نے یہ بھی بتایا کہ دریائے راوی فرنٹ اربن ڈویلپمنٹ پروجیکٹ کے پہلے مرحلے میں 44 ہزار ایکڑ اراضی کا انتخاب کیا گیا ہے اور 6 ہزار ایکڑ اراضی پر ایک صنعتی زون بھی قائم کیا جائے گا جس میں ذخیرہ کرنے کی گنجائش والے تین بیراجوں کی تعمیر ہوگی۔

وزیراعلیٰ پنجاب نے کہا کہ یہ منصوبہ ماحول دوست ہوگا کیونکہ 60 لاکھ نمونے بھی لگائے جائیں گے جس سے ماحولیاتی آلودگی کو نمایاں طور پر کم کرنے میں مدد ملے گی۔ انہوں نے مزید ہدایت کی کہ تمام قواعد و ضوابط کو مدنظر رکھتے ہوئے زمین کے حصول کا کام جلد از جلد مکمل کیا جائے۔

عثمان بزدار نے اس بات پر زور دیا کہ یہ منصوبہ غیر ملکی سرمایہ کاری اور دبئی ایکسپو میں بھی دکھایا جائے گا۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ دریائے راوی فرنٹ اربن ڈویلپمنٹ پروجیکٹ دنیا میں ایک منفرد ہے جو دریا کے کنارے بنایا جائے گا کیونکہ یہ گیم چینجر ثابت ہوگا جس سے ترقی کی نئی راہیں کھلیں گی۔

چیف ایگزیکٹو آفیسر روی اربن ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی عمران امین نے منصوبے کی پیش رفت اور زمین کے حصول کے معاملات سے آگاہ کیا۔
