China to support Pakistan at G20 Summit for Debt Relief Initiative
Islamabad: The Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has confirmed that China will support Prime Minister Imran Khan’s debt relief initiative at the upcoming G-20 Summit, as reported by the news sources.
It was reported earlier that Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had a discussion with his Chinese Counterpart about seeking China’s support for PM’s debt relief initiative.
According to reports, Wang Yi appreciated Pakistan’s thoughtful gesture on the matter because the developing countries are about to suffer the most from the coronavirus pandemic as the lockdown in place has put a stop at the economic activities.
The Chinese Foreign Minister also mentioned that both countries have already agreed to jointly deal with the outbreak during the recent visit of President Arif Alvi’s visit to China. He said that China appreciates Pakistan’s support during China’s early battle against COVID-19 and looks forward to assisting Pakistan to tackle the pandemic.
The reports suggest that as much as 76 countries will benefit from PM’s debt relief initiative.
