Central Development Working Party approves $2.3 trillion Main Line-I and Karachi Circular Railway projects

The price of the ML-1 has climbed from the original PC-I cost of $6.807 billion to $9.85 billion, and the price of the KCR has gone up from Rs. 201.572 billion to Rs. 292.388 billion.

The upgrade and duplication of Primary Line-1 from Karachi to Peshawar and Taxila to Havelian is the main part of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor's Main Line-1 (ML-1) umbrella project (1733km). The ML-1 project is expected to be implemented in three packages.

The Rs 292.388 billion KCR project was authorised by CDWP. It is suggested that the project be funded by foreign investment, namely under the CPEC Framework on a 90:10 ratio. In accordance with the financing plan, China will loan Pakistan's federal government Rs 263.149 billion and the province government of Sindh Rs 29.239 billion.

The minister of planning gave the relevant authorities two days to resolve the problems in the PC-I of KCR.

کراچی سے پشاور اور ٹیکسلا سے حویلیاں تک پرائمری لائن 1 کی اپ گریڈیشن اور ڈپلیکیشن چائنا پاکستان اکنامک کوریڈور کی مین لائن-1 (ML-1) چھتری منصوبے (1733 کلومیٹر) کا اہم حصہ ہے۔ ML-1 منصوبہ تین پیکجوں میں لاگو ہونے کی توقع ہے۔
292.388 بلین روپے کے KCR پروجیکٹ کو CDWP نے منظوری دی تھی۔ یہ تجویز کیا جاتا ہے کہ اس منصوبے کو غیر ملکی سرمایہ کاری سے فنڈ کیا جائے، یعنی CPEC فریم ورک کے تحت 90:10 کے تناسب سے۔ فنانسنگ پلان کے مطابق چین پاکستان کی وفاقی حکومت کو 263.149 ارب روپے اور سندھ کی صوبائی حکومت کو 29.239 بلین روپے کا قرضہ دے گا۔
منصوبہ بندی کے وزیر نے KCR کے PC-I میں مسائل کو حل کرنے کے لیے متعلقہ حکام کو دو دن کا وقت دیا۔
