ISLAMABAD: It is reported that the Central Development Working Party recommends Rs25.5 Billions of Karachi Water Supply project to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council for final approval. It is also mentioned that the approval cost of 3 projects is estimated to be around 5.5 billion.
It was decided by CDWP during a meeting by Central Development Working Part Chairman Jahanzeib Khan. Senior officials from the planning commission and federal ministers partaken in a meeting while representatives from the provincial government attended the meeting through virtual means.
Two major projects related to physical planning and housing were presented in the meeting. The first project named as Greater-Karachi Water Supply Scheme (K-IV) 260 MGD (phase-1)” worth Rs25.5 billion was referred to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council for approval.
The K-IV designed with a total capacity of 650 million gallons per day to meet the demand of 18.5 million inhabitants of Karachi City. The project being executed by Sindh has faced an extraordinary delay in execution. The provincial government was requested to change the executing agency.
Projects related to governance, physical planning, and housing, education, and science and technology were presented in the meeting.
اسلام آباد: اطلاع ہے کہ سنٹرل ڈویلپمنٹ ورکنگ پارٹی حتمی منظوری کے لئے کراچی واٹر سپلائی منصوبے کے 25.5 بلین روپے کی قومی اقتصادی کونسل کی ایگزیکٹو کمیٹی کو سفارش کرتی ہے۔ یہ بھی بتایا گیا ہے کہ 3 منصوبوں کی منظوری لاگت کا تخمینہ 5.5 بلین ہے۔
اس کا فیصلہ سی ڈی ڈبلیو پی نے سنٹرل ڈویلپمنٹ ورکنگ پارٹ کے چیئرمین جہانزیب خان کی ایک میٹنگ کے دوران کیا۔ منصوبہ بندی کمیشن اور وفاقی وزراء کے سینئر عہدیداروں نے اجلاس میں حصہ لیا جبکہ صوبائی حکومت کے نمائندوں نے آن لائن ذرائع سے اجلاس میں شرکت کی۔
ترقیاتی منصوبہ بندی اور رہائش سے متعلق دو بڑے منصوبوں کو اجلاس میں پیش کیا گیا۔ سب سے پہلے پروجیکٹ کو گریٹر کراچی واٹر سپلائی اسکیم (K-IV) ایم جی ڈی (فیز 1) کے نام سے منسوب کیا گیا ، جس کی قیمت 25.5 ارب روپے ہے جسے منظوری کے لئے قومی اقتصادی کونسل کی ایگزیکٹو کمیٹی کے پاس بھیجا گیا۔
K-IV کراچی شہر کے 18.5 ملین باشندوں کی مانگ کو پورا کرنے کے لئے یومیہ 650 ملین گیلن کی گنجائش کے ساتھ ڈیزائن کیا گیا ہے۔ سندھ کے ذریعہ عمل میں آنے والے منصوبے پر عمل درآمد میں غیر معمولی تاخیر کا سامنا کرنا پڑا ہے۔ صوبائی حکومت سے عملدرآمد کرنے والی ایجنسی کو تبدیل کرنے کی درخواست کی گئی۔
اجلاس میں گورننس ، ترقیاتی منصوبہ بندی اور رہائش ، تعلیم اور سائنس اور ٹکنالوجی سے متعلق منصوبے پیش کیے گئے۔
