CDA prepares PC-1 to operate Metro Bus to New Airport

PC-I of metro bus services includes fleet acquisition, IT, Security surveillance, installation of AFC system, construction of allied infrastructure, and command and control center.

In the beginning, the estimate of its construction cost was also a part of PC-I. Pc-I furthermore includes operations of 30 new air-conditioned busses (electric busses are the priority) plying on a permanent time schedule. CDA will be playing the role of implementing party for the project, while after the establishment of capital mass transit authority the responsibility and the operation of Metro bus services would be handled by the successive authority.

The meeting held by the chairman and attended by the other members including the representatives of ICT Admin evaluated the PC-1 of the project which will be submitted to the government for the finalization of the funds for the project.

The requirement for the comprehensive public transport system for ICT was reviewed by the locals along with the international consultants and they were agreed that the city needs a mass transit system for removal of traffic congestion and for public facilitation.

The project consists of 25.60 kilometers of the signal-less corridor that starts from the Peshawar Morr and reaches its destination at New Islamabad Airport, connecting eight median stations. The construction services are being done under the supervision of the National Highway Authority.

چیئرمین کی زیرصدارت ہونے والی اس میٹنگ میں اور آئی سی ٹی ایڈمن کے نمائندوں سمیت دیگر ممبران نے بھی اس پروجیکٹ کے پی سی ون کا جائزہ لیا جو پروجیکٹ کے فنڈز کو حتمی شکل دینے کے لئے حکومت کو پیش کیا جائے گا۔

مقامی لوگوں کے ساتھ آئی سی ٹی کے لئے جامع پبلک ٹرانسپورٹ سسٹم کی ضرورت کا جائزہ لیا گیا اور بین الاقوامی مشیروں کے ساتھ ساتھ ان پر اتفاق کیا گیا کہ شہر کو ٹریفک کی بھیڑ کو دور کرنے اور ماس ٹرانزٹ سسٹم کی ضرورت ہے۔

یہ منصوبہ 25.60 کلو میٹر سگنل لیس راہداری پر مشتمل ہے جو پشاور مورڑ سے شروع ہوتا ہے اور آٹھ میڈین اسٹیشنوں کو جوڑتے ہوئے نیو اسلام آباد ایئرپورٹ پر اپنی منزل تک پہنچتا ہے۔ تعمیراتی خدمات نیشنل ہائی وے اتھارٹی کی نگرانی میں کی جارہی ہیں۔
