CDA aimed to renovate Melody Food Park

Capital Development Authority (CDA), in its drive 'Light up Islamabad', will renovate the Melody Food Park, situated at sector G-6 of Federal Capital, Islamabad.

The food park will be turned into a charming place by carrying out work of its beautification, a senior officer of the CDA has given the statement while confirming the development.

He said the civic agency's engineering wing would conduct a survey after Eid ul Fitr to determine the cost needed for carrying out the civic, and beautification work in the market.

The officer regretted that the food parks had not been renovated for the last ten years which was a misery.

Set up in 2002 in the G-6 Markaz, the park had remained a go-to destination for the food enthusiasts of the twin cities of Rawalpindi, and Islamabad, but it had lost its charm in the last few years due to unhygienic conditions, overflowing drains, broken benches, and damaged manholes.

The market has remained in the charge of the Metropolitan Corporation of Islamabad for the last several years as it was looking after major civic work of the city under its Mayor's watch.

Currently, major civic departments had been brought under the CDA's control so as to ensure better management of the city, and for the welfare of its citizens.

انہوں نے کہا کہ شہری ایجنسی کا انجینئرنگ ونگ عیدالفطر کے بعد ایک سروے کرے گا تاکہ شہری کو انجام دینے کے لئے درکار لاگت اور مارکیٹ میں خوبصورتی کے کام کا اندازہ کیا جاسکے۔

افسر نے افسوس کا اظہار کیا کہ فوڈ پارک کی گذشتہ دس سالوں سے تزئین و آرائش نہیں ہوئی تھی جو ایک تکلیف تھی۔

جی -6 مارکاز میں 2002 میں قائم کیا گیا یہ پارک جڑواں شہر راولپنڈی اوراسلام آباد کے کھانے کے شوقوں کے لئے جانے والی منزل کی حیثیت رکھتا تھا ، لیکن پچھلے کچھ سالوں میں غیرمشکل حالات کی وجہ سے اس کی توجہ ختم ہوگئی ، بہہ جانے والی نالیوں ، ٹوٹی ہوئی بینچوں اور تباہ شدہ مینہولز۔

یہ مارکیٹ گذشتہ کئی برسوں سے اسلام آباد کی میٹرو پولیٹن کارپوریشن کے چارج میں ہے کیونکہ وہ اپنے میئر کی نگرانی میں شہر کے بڑے شہری کاموں کی دیکھ بھال کر رہی ہے۔

فی الحال ، شہر کے بہتر انتظام کو یقینی بنانے اور اس کے شہریوں کی فلاح و بہبود کے لئے بڑے شہری محکموں کو سی ڈی اے کے کنٹرول میں لایا گیا تھا۔
