Cabinet approves lease of state land for corporate farming under CPEC

According to the news sources, the cabinet which met under the chair of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar directed a ministerial committee to devise the lease rules while approving 500 to 5,000 acres of land for corporate farming to create job opportunities and to modernize the agriculture sector for food security.

According to the details, the issue of corporate farming under CPEC was pending since the PML-N government, which had set up a special cell at the agriculture department to work out modalities for the purpose and had planned to establish seven agro-economic zones along the CPEC route to take full advantage of the development opportunity coming its way by promoting high-value agriculture and related businesses there.

The department also tried to woo investment from China by offering partnerships in organic farming, hi-tech agricultural mechanization industry for domestic as well as export purposes, development of precision and high-value agriculture, development & production of seed and seed technology (hybrid and open-pollinated varieties), manufacturing of pesticides and fertilizer units along the CPEC route, and processing units for value-addition of agriculture products along the CPEC route.

نیوز ذرائع کے مطابق وزیراعلیٰ عثمان بزدار کی زیرصدارت کابینہ کا اجلاس ہوا جس میں وزارتی کمیٹی کو لیز رولز وضع کرنے کی ہدایت کی گئی جب کہ کارپوریٹ فارمنگ کے لیے 500 سے 5 ہزار ایکڑ اراضی کی منظوری دی گئی تاکہ روزگار کے مواقع پیدا ہوں اور زرعی شعبے کو جدید خطوط پر استوار کیا جا سکے۔
تفصیلات کے مطابق سی پیک کے تحت کارپوریٹ فارمنگ کا معاملہ مسلم لیگ ن کی حکومت کے وقت سے زیر التوا تھا، جس نے اس مقصد کے لیے طریقہ کار طے کرنے کے لیے محکمہ زراعت میں ایک خصوصی سیل قائم کیا تھا اور اس کے ساتھ ساتھ سات زرعی اقتصادی زونز قائم کرنے کا منصوبہ بنایا تھا۔ سی پیک کا راستہ اعلیٰ قدر کی زراعت اور اس سے متعلقہ کاروبار کو فروغ دے کر اپنے راستے میں آنے والے ترقی کے مواقع سے بھرپور فائدہ اٹھاتا ہے۔
محکمہ نے نامیاتی کاشتکاری، گھریلو اور برآمدی مقاصد کے لیے ہائی ٹیک ایگریکلچرل میکانائزیشن انڈسٹری، درست اور اعلیٰ قدر والی زراعت کی ترقی، بیج اور بیج کی ٹیکنالوجی کی ترقی اور پیداوار (ہائبرڈ اور کھلی جرگ والی اقسام)، سی پیک روٹ کے ساتھ ساتھ کیڑے مار ادویات اور کھاد کے یونٹس کی تیاری، اور سی پیک روٹ کے ساتھ زرعی مصنوعات کی ویلیو ایڈیشن کے لیے پروسیسنگ یونٹ شامل ہے.
