Asia’s First Ever E-Passport Service to Start in Pakistan

According to the news sources, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid announced Asia’s first-ever e-passport service to start in Pakistan at the beginning of the next year. He addressed that the significant initiatives will be launched as well by the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports.

While addressing the event, He also mentioned the important initiatives which include fast-track delivery service at zonal offices, revamping online passport facility, up-gradation of the website of Director General of Immigration and Passports, and inauguration of its official logo. The online facility will allow individuals to get their passports at home without traveling and waiting in lines at passport offices. He said passport delivery service has been revamped and now one can get it within twenty-four hours.

Sheikh Rashid said an online facility is also being given for renunciation of citizenship and getting emergency travel documents. He said online passport service is being provided in 191 countries.

He said we are fully focusing on National Action Plan and stern action will be taken against those who are labeling the country internationally.

نیوز ذرائع کے مطابق وزیر داخلہ شیخ رشید نے اگلے سال کے آغاز میں پاکستان میں ایشیا کی پہلی ای پاسپورٹ سروس شروع کرنے کا اعلان کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ڈائریکٹوریٹ جنرل آف امیگریشن اینڈ پاسپورٹ کی جانب سے بھی اہم اقدامات شروع کیے جائیں گے۔
تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے، انہوں نے ان اہم اقدامات کا بھی ذکر کیا جن میں زونل دفاتر میں فاسٹ ٹریک ڈیلیوری سروس، آن لائن پاسپورٹ کی سہولت کو بہتر بنانا، ڈائرکٹر جنرل آف امیگریشن اینڈ پاسپورٹ کی ویب سائٹ کو اپ گریڈ کرنا اور اس کے آفیشل لوگو کا افتتاح شامل ہے۔ آن لائن سہولت افراد کو پاسپورٹ دفاتر میں سفر کیے بغیر اور لائنوں میں انتظار کیے بغیر اپنے پاسپورٹ گھر پر حاصل کرنے کی سحولت دے گی۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ پاسپورٹ ڈلیوری سروس کو بہتر بنایا گیا ہے اور اب کوئی بھی اسے چوبیس گھنٹوں میں حاصل کر سکتا ہے۔
شیخ رشید نے کہا کہ شہریت ترک کرنے اور ہنگامی سفری دستاویزات حاصل کرنے کے لیے آن لائن سہولت بھی دی جارہی ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ 191 ممالک میں آن لائن پاسپورٹ سروس فراہم کی جارہی ہے۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم نیشنل ایکشن پلان پر پوری توجہ مرکوز کیے ہوئے ہیں اور بین الاقوامی سطح پر ملک کو بدنام کرنے والوں کے خلاف سخت کارروائی کی جائے گی۔
