Army Chief Meets Business Tycoons in a Pre-Hyped Meeting

Islamabad: The military wing on Thursday issued a formal statement about a much-anticipated meeting between Chief of Army Staff Gen. Qamar Bajwa and some of Pakistan’s most powerful business tycoons.

Director-General of ISPR (Inter-Services Public Relations) Major General Asim Ghafoor said in a statement that Army Chief Gen. Qamar Bajwa has told the group of businessmen that the “country’s improved internal security environment has created space for increased economic activity.” According to DG ISPR, the Army Chief made these remarks while addressing the business community in the presence of the government’s economic team. The event was held at the Army Auditorium in Rawalpindi, said ISPR.
