Action planned against unauthorized residents of govt houses in Islamabad

The Ministry of Housing and Works is planning to vacate government quarters in the federal capital from retired and relatives of late employees who continue occupying the residences.

In this regard, the ministry has sought help from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Estate Office, as per our sources.

They said the ministry was considering taking action against encroachments and illegally constructed structures in government residences. Strict action would be taken against the construction of extra rooms by the employees.

At present, the sources said, over 17,000 government houses in Islamabad are under the management of the Estate Office and additional rooms have illegally been constructed by the allottees in over 2,400 residences.

Earlier, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Mohammad Khan said the Rs70 million budget for 28,000 houses was a joke, adding he would take up the issue with the housing minister.

He said the government will try to increase the budget for the ministry next year.

The committee sought a complete report from the ministry about the repair work.

Meanwhile, the committee was given a briefing on G-14/3. Officials told the committee that possession of 70pc land had been taken by the ministry and the process of issuing allotment letters was in progress.

The committee was told that 44 allottees had constructed their houses there as well. They said there were 1,100 plots and 700 of them were ready for allotment.

The committee decided to have another briefing at its next meeting and directed the ministry to come up with details of encroachment on state, and handing over of the possession of plots.

وزارت ہاؤسنگ اینڈ ورکس وفاقی دارالحکومت میں سرکاری کوارٹرز کو ریٹائرڈ اور مرحوم ملازمین کے رشتہ داروں سے خالی کرنے کی منصوبہ بندی کر رہی ہے جنہوں نے رہائش گاہوں پر قبضہ جاری رکھا ہوا ہے۔

ہمارے ذرائع کے مطابق اس سلسلے میں وزارت نے کیپٹل ڈیولپمنٹ اتھارٹی (سی ڈی اے) اور اسٹیٹ آفس سے مدد طلب کی ہے۔

ان کا کہنا تھا کہ وزارت تجاوزات اور سرکاری رہائش گاہوں میں غیر قانونی طور پر تعمیر شدہ ڈھانچوں کے خلاف کارروائی کرنے پر غور کر رہی ہے۔ ملازمین کی جانب سے اضافی کمروں کی تعمیر کے خلاف سخت کارروائی کی جائے گی۔

ذرائع کا کہنا ہے کہ اس وقت اسلام آباد میں 17 ہزار سے زائد سرکاری مکانات اسٹیٹ آفس کے زیر انتظام ہیں اور 2400 سے زائد رہائش گاہوں میں الاٹیوں کی جانب سے اضافی کمرے غیر قانونی طور پر تعمیر کیے گئے ہیں۔

اس سے قبل وزیر مملکت برائے پارلیمانی امور علی محمد خان نے کہا تھا کہ 28 ہزار گھروں کے لیے 70 ملین روپے کا بجٹ ایک مذاق ہے، انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ وہ اس معاملے کو وزیر ہاؤسنگ کے ساتھ اٹھائیں گے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ حکومت آئندہ سال وزارت کے بجٹ میں اضافہ کرنے کی کوشش کرے گی۔
کمیٹی نے وزارت سے مرمتی کام کے بارے میں مکمل رپورٹ طلب کر لی۔

اس دوران کمیٹی کو G-14/3 پر بریفنگ دی گئی۔ حکام نے کمیٹی کو بتایا کہ وزارت نے 70 فیصد اراضی پر قبضہ کر لیا ہے اور الاٹمنٹ لیٹر جاری کرنے کا عمل جاری ہے۔

کمیٹی کو بتایا گیا کہ وہاں 44 الاٹیوں نے اپنے گھر بھی تعمیر کر لیے ہیں۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ 1,100 پلاٹ ہیں اور ان میں سے 700 الاٹمنٹ کے لیے تیار ہیں۔

کمیٹی نے اپنی اگلی میٹنگ میں ایک اور بریفنگ کا فیصلہ کیا اور وزارت کو ہدایت کی کہ وہ ریاست میں تجاوزات اور پلاٹوں کے قبضے کے حوالے سے تفصیلات سامنے لائے۔
