Islamabad: 70 illegal water connections in the area of Bari Imam were disconnected to make the current water shortage in the federal capital less severe, reported a news source.
The illegal connections and installation of motors and water pumps on the main supply lines have created a water shortage for the residents of Islamabad. Strict action has been taken against the small and large illegal water connections across the city by Islamabad Capital Territory Administration.
Illegally installed suction motors on water supply lines were also removed during the ongoing drive. To make the operation successful, the CDA has sought the coordination of the police and the area’s magistrate.
Special teams have also been formed to handle the worsening situation and keep the illegal water connections in check so that this practice can be discouraged in the future.

مین سپلائی لائنوں پر غیر قانونی کنکشن اور موٹروں اور واٹر پمپس کی تنصیب نے اسلام آباد کے مکینوں کے لیے پانی کی قلت پیدا کر دی ہے۔ اسلام آباد کیپٹل ٹیریٹری انتظامیہ کی جانب سے شہر بھر میں پانی کے چھوٹے بڑے غیر قانونی کنکشنز کے خلاف سخت کارروائی کی گئی ہے۔
جاری مہم کے دوران واٹر سپلائی لائنوں پر غیر قانونی طور پر نصب سکشن موٹرز کو بھی ہٹا دیا گیا۔ آپریشن کو کامیاب بنانے کے لیے سی ڈی اے نے پولیس اور علاقہ مجسٹریٹ سے تعاون طلب کیا ہے۔
بگڑتی ہوئی صورتحال سے نمٹنے اور پانی کے غیر قانونی کنکشنز کو روکنے کے لیے خصوصی ٹیمیں بھی تشکیل دی گئی ہیں تاکہ مستقبل میں اس طرز عمل کی حوصلہ شکنی کی جا سکے۔
