60pc rangeland can be converted into forest area under TBTTP

Rangelands in Pakistan are favorable to agroforestry, according to a working paper issued by the climate change ministry, but not all of them can be used for this purpose because diverse animal species rely on these lands for existence.

According to the research, ten percent of these rangelands can simply be transformed because no animal species feeds in these areas.

According to the details, the working papers revealed that some more studies would help get to know how much more areas of rangelands can be converted into forest areas without causing any kind of harm to the animal species.

It pointed out that there is a need to be aware of the rangeland-dependent communities about the key concepts like climate change, global warming, and desertification and their negative impacts on the rangeland productivity and functions.

وزارت موسمیاتی تبدیلی کی طرف سے جاری کردہ ایک ورکنگ پیپر کے مطابق، پاکستان میں رینج لینڈز زرعی جنگلات کے لیے سازگار ہیں، لیکن ان سب کو اس مقصد کے لیے استعمال نہیں کیا جا سکتا کیونکہ مختلف جانوروں کی نسلیں وجود کے لیے ان زمینوں پر انحصار کرتی ہیں۔
تحقیق کے مطابق، ان رینج لینڈز میں سے دس فیصد کو آسانی سے تبدیل کیا جا سکتا ہے کیونکہ ان علاقوں میں جانوروں کی کوئی نسل نہیں کھاتی۔
تفصیلات کے مطابق ورکنگ پیپرز سے یہ بات سامنے آئی ہے کہ کچھ مزید مطالعات سے یہ جاننے میں مدد ملے گی کہ جانوروں کی انواع کو کسی قسم کا نقصان پہنچائے بغیر رینج لینڈز کے مزید کتنے علاقوں کو جنگلاتی علاقوں میں تبدیل کیا جا سکتا ہے۔
اس نے نشاندہی کی کہ رینج لینڈ پر منحصر کمیونٹیز کو موسمیاتی تبدیلی، گلوبل وارمنگ، اور ریگستانی جیسے اہم تصورات اور رینج لینڈ کی پیداواری صلاحیت اور افعال پر ان کے منفی اثرات کے بارے میں آگاہ کرنے کی ضرورت ہے۔
