50 eco-guards to perform patrolling duties in Margalla Hills National Park

As many as 50 eco-guards would perform the patrolling duties in the forest area of the Margalla Hills National Park (MHNP) on a volunteer basis to protect and preserve its green character.

According to the details, the program to seek the services of the volunteers for the protection of the forest areas of MHNP has been launched for the first time and now they are ready to perform their duties as eco-guards after completion of their necessary training.

The Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) has launched this program and also made arrangements for the training of the eco-guards. An official informed that the number of eco-guards would be increased with the passage of time as more volunteers would be registered and given training in the coming months.

“The fire incidents are one of the major problems and we hope that the eco-guards will greatly help address them in next summer season. They will also keep an eye on illegal hunters and poachers through round-the-clock patrolling of the area,” the official said.

It is pertinent to mention here that most of the eco-guards are young students and activists that have a great desire to play their role in the protection of the natural environment.

The spokesperson of the climate change ministry said Prime Minister Imran Khan has urged the people especially the youth to come up and protect the natural environment.

“A large number of youngsters across the country are coming up and offering their services, which shows their excitement and passion to protect our green cover,” he said.

مارگلہ ہلز نیشنل پارک (MHNP) کے جنگلاتی علاقے میں 50 ایکو گارڈز گشت کے فرائض رضاکارانہ بنیادوں پر انجام دیں گے تاکہ اس کے سبز کردار کی حفاظت اور حفاظت کی جاسکے۔

تفصیلات کے مطابق ایم ایچ این پی کے جنگلاتی علاقوں کے تحفظ کے لیے رضاکاروں کی خدمات حاصل کرنے کا پروگرام پہلی بار شروع کیا گیا ہے اور اب وہ اپنی ضروری تربیت مکمل کرنے کے بعد ایکو گارڈ کے طور پر اپنے فرائض انجام دینے کے لیے تیار ہیں۔

اسلام آباد وائلڈ لائف مینجمنٹ بورڈ (IWMB) نے یہ پروگرام شروع کیا ہے اور ایکو گارڈز کی تربیت کے انتظامات بھی کیے ہیں۔ ایک عہدیدار نے بتایا کہ وقت گزرنے کے ساتھ ایکو گارڈز کی تعداد میں اضافہ کیا جائے گا کیونکہ آنے والے مہینوں میں مزید رضاکاروں کو رجسٹر کیا جائے گا اور انہیں تربیت دی جائے گی۔

آگ کے واقعات بڑے مسائل میں سے ایک ہیں اور ہمیں امید ہے کہ ماحولیاتی محافظ اگلے موسم گرما کے موسم میں ان سے نمٹنے میں بہت مدد کریں گے۔ وہ علاقے میں چوبیس گھنٹے گشت کے ذریعے غیر قانونی شکاریوں اور شکاریوں پر بھی نظر رکھیں گے۔

یہ بات قابل ذکر ہے کہ ایکو گارڈز میں سے اکثر نوجوان طلباء اور کارکن ہیں جو قدرتی ماحول کے تحفظ میں اپنا کردار ادا کرنے کی بڑی خواہش رکھتے ہیں۔

وزارت موسمیاتی تبدیلی کے ترجمان نے کہا کہ وزیر اعظم عمران خان نے لوگوں بالخصوص نوجوانوں پر زور دیا ہے کہ وہ اوپر آئیں اور قدرتی ماحول کی حفاظت کریں۔

انہوں نے کہا ، "ملک بھر میں نوجوانوں کی ایک بڑی تعداد آ رہی ہے اور اپنی خدمات پیش کر رہی ہے ، جو ان کے جوش و خروش اور ہمارے سبز کور کی حفاظت کے جذبہ کو ظاہر کرتی ہے۔"
