31 illegal residential units identified in MHNP

According to the news sources, the relevant authorities have identified thirty-one illegal residential settlements built in recent years in Margallah Hills National Park (MHNP) in violation of the Islamabad Wildlife Protection, Preservation, Conservation, and Management Ordinance 1979.

According to the details, the Google Earth imagery, onsite pictures, and field surveys have been used to recognize encroachments that included 14 residential settlements in Nurpur Shahan, 12 in Saidpur, and five settlements in Gandhian areas.

An official of the climate change ministry said that any action against these illegal settlements in the national park would be taken with the help of the Capital Development Authority (CDA).

While talking to the media he also said, “The proper demarcation of the boundaries will help prevent encroachment and illegal occupation of land in the national park.”

 “We will seek assistance from the Survey of Pakistan for demarcation of the national park and introduce a proper mechanism to protect its forest area and wildlife species.” He added.

نیوز ذرائع کے مطابق متعلقہ حکام نے مارگلہ ہلز نیشنل پارک (ایم ایچ این پی) میں حالیہ برسوں میں اسلام آباد وائلڈ لائف پروٹیکشن، پریزرویشن، کنزرویشن، اینڈ مینجمنٹ آرڈیننس 1979 کی خلاف ورزی کرتے ہوئے تعمیر کی گئی 31 غیر قانونی رہائشی بستیوں کی نشاندہی کی ہے۔
تفصیلات کے مطابق، گوگل ارتھ امیجری، آن سائٹ پکچرز اور فیلڈ سروے کا استعمال تجاوزات کو پہچاننے کے لیے کیا گیا ہے جس میں نور پور شاہان میں 14، سید پور میں 12 اور گاندھیائی علاقوں میں پانچ بستیاں شامل ہیں۔
وزارت موسمیاتی تبدیلی کے ایک اہلکار نے بتایا کہ نیشنل پارک میں ان غیر قانون�� بستیوں کے خلاف کوئی بھی کارروائی کیپٹل ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی (سی ڈی اے) کی مدد سے کی جائے گی۔
میڈیا سے بات کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے یہ بھی کہا کہ سرحدوں کی درست حد بندی سے نیشنل پارک میں تجاوزات اور زمین پر ناجائز قبضے کو روکنے میں مدد ملے گی۔
"ہم نیشنل پارک کی حد بندی کے لیے سروے آف پاکستان سے مدد لیں گے اور اس کے جنگلاتی رقبے اور جنگلی حیات کی انواع کے تحفظ کے لیے ایک مناسب طریقہ کار متعارف کرائیں گے, شامل کیا.
