2 underpasses of Lahore need attention from LDA

According to the details, the Secretary of Housing took notice as WASA did not heed the repeated warnings. In a letter to the DGLDA, it has been directed to complete the incomplete arrangements at the underpasses immediately.

The housing department had formed a four-member committee to review the arrangements for underpasses before the monsoon. WASA had refused to take control of the underpasses as arrangements were not complete.

According to sources, WASA had also issued several letters to the LDA on substandard arrangements and hinted at drowning in the monsoon due to unsatisfactory arrangements in both the underpasses. It should be noted that Secretary Housing has taken notice of the unsatisfactory response of the LDA and has ordered the correctness of the drainage system.

Vice-Chairman LDASM Imran visited Shahkam Flyover Underpass, accompanied by Member Governing Body Amir Riaz Qureshi. Chief Engineer LDA Mazhar Hussain Khan gave a briefing on the project. Project Director Haroon Saifi, Rashid Sattar, NLC officials were also present. The Vice-Chairman reviewed the construction work of the project.

 The Vice-Chairman directed that alternative routes for the construction of flyovers be improved. He added that more trees would be planted in place of those affected by the project.

لعل شہباز قلندر اورکیپٹن مبین شہید انڈر پاسز میں نکاسی آب کے ناقص انتظامات پر سیکرٹری ہاؤسنگ کا سخت نوٹس، ڈی جی ایل ڈی اے کو فوری ایکشن لینے کا حکم دے دیا۔ تفصیلات کے مطابق واسا کی بار بار تنبیہ پر کان نہ دھرنے کے باعث سیکرٹری ہاؤسنگ نے نوٹس لے لیا۔ ڈی جی ایل ڈی اے کو مراسلہ جاری کرتے ہوئے انڈرپاسز پر جو انتظامات نامکمل ہیں، ان کو فوری طور پر مکمل کرنے کی ہدایت کی گئی ہے۔ محکمہ ہاؤسنگ نے مون سون سے قبل انڈر پاسز کے انتظامات کا جائزہ لینے کیلئے چار رکنی کمیٹی بنائی تھی۔ واسا نے انتظامات مکمل نہ ہونے پر انڈر پاسز کا کنٹرول سنبھالنے سے انکار کردیا تھا۔ ذرائع کے مطابق واسا نے غیر معیاری انتظامات پر ایل ڈی اے کو متعدد بار مراسلہ بھی جاری کیا تھا اور مون سون میں دونوں انڈر پاسز میں تسلی بخش انتظامات نہ ہونے پر ڈوبنے کا عندیہ دے رکھا ہے۔ واضح رہے ایل ڈی اے کی جانب سے تسلی بخش جواب نہ دینے پر سیکرٹری ہاؤسنگ نے نوٹس لیا اور نکاسی آب کے نظام کی درستی کا حکم دیا ہے۔ وائس چیئرمین ایل ڈی اے ایس ایم عمران نے شاہکام فلائی اوور انڈر پاس کا دورہ کیا، اس موقع پر ممبر گورننگ باڈی عامر ریاض قریشی ہمراہ تھے۔ چیف انجنئیر ایل ڈی اے مظہر حسین خان نے منصوبے پر بریفنگ دی۔ پراجیکٹ ڈائریکٹر ہارون سیفی، راشد ستار، این ایل سی حکام بھی موجود تھے۔ وائس چئیرمین نے منصوبے کے تعمیراتی کام کا جائزہ لیا۔ وائس چئیرمین نے حکم دیا کہ فلائی اوور کی تعمیر کیلئے متبادل روٹس کو بہتر بنایا جائے۔ ان کا مزید کہنا تھا کہ منصوبے سے متاثر ہونیوالے درختوں کی جگہ مزید درخت لگائے جائیں گے۔
