Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved the “Protected Area Initiative”, which includes the establishment of 12 national parks in the country.
The aim of this national park is to preserve and protect wildlife and plantations. The initiative is being established under the umbrella of the “Green Pakistan” program. The PM has also directed that all the provinces should be taken on-board for this initiative at the highest level.
The Prime Minister also said that such initiatives provide employment opportunities, which are crucial in the current COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, the natural resources of the country will be protected, he said.
The Prime Minister will launch the “Protected Area Initiative” soon after the Ministry of Climate Change completes the process of stakeholders' consultation.
