Balochistan: A Canadian mining corporation named Barrick Gold Corporation has shown a strong desire to invest in Gwadar for the import and export of various minerals. (Reported by news source)
The news broke during a delegation from Barrick Gold Corporation's Tuesday visit to Gwadar.
Naseer Khan Kashani, the Gwadar Port Authority's (GPA) chairman, gave the Barrick Gold team an overview of the Gwadar Port, the Gwadar Free Zone, and other China-Pakistan Economic Corridor development projects during the meeting (CPEC).
The GPA Chairman advised the Barrick Gold team that the port city is entirely safe for foreign investment and has all the required infrastructure to make it easy for investors.
In March of this year, it was announced that Barrick Gold Corporation would resume the construction of the Reko Diq mine following a nearly ten-year court fight.
Barrick Gold committed to investing $10 billion in Balochistan as part of renewed agreements with the federal and provincial governments, generating 8,000 jobs for the province's residents.
On the other hand, a business that is entirely owned and under the supervision of the provincial government will hold 25% of Balochistan.

گوادر پورٹ اتھارٹی (جی پی اے) کے چیئرمین نصیر خان کاشانی نے بیرک گولڈ ٹیم کو میٹنگ (سی پی ای سی) کے دوران گوادر پورٹ، گوادر فری زون اور دیگر چین پاکستان اقتصادی راہداری کے ترقیاتی منصوبوں کا جائزہ دیا۔
جی پی اے کے چیئرمین نے بیرک گولڈ ٹیم کو مشورہ دیا کہ بندرگاہی شہر غیر ملکی سرمایہ کاری کے لیے مکمل طور پر محفوظ ہے اور سرمایہ کاروں کے لیے آسان بنانے کے لیے تمام مطلوبہ انفراسٹرکچر موجود ہے۔
اس سال مارچ میں، یہ اعلان کیا گیا تھا کہ بیرک گولڈ کارپوریشن تقریباً دس سال کی عدالتی لڑائی کے بعد ریکوڈک کان کی تعمیر دوبارہ شروع کرے گی۔
بیرک گولڈ نے وفاقی اور صوبائی حکومتوں کے ساتھ تجدید معاہدوں کے تحت بلوچستان میں 10 بلین ڈالر کی سرمایہ کاری کرنے کا عہد کیا، جس سے صوبے کے رہائشیوں کے لیے 8,000 ملازمتیں پیدا ہوں گی۔
دوسری طرف، ایک کاروبار جو مکمل طور پر ملکیت میں ہے اور صوبائی حکومت کی نگرانی میں ہے، بلوچستان کا 25 فیصد حصہ لے گا۔
