WASA initiates cleanliness drive in Rawalpindi

The concerned civic body has started covering open manholes, renovating of sewerage system, and removing garbage from sewerage lines and nullahs by utilizing heavy machinery for this purpose. The civic body has started the work from Commercial Market areas where Rawalpindi Development Authority Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza, Vice Chairman Haroon Kamal Hashmi, and WASA Managing Director Raja Shaukat were present on the occasion.

WASA Managing Director Raja Shaukat briefed that they were working on the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. He said that the Punjab government has directed us to provide services to the public within 24-hours. “Punjab government has introduced an Application where a common citizen can easily explain his problem, and a complaint will be forwarded to the relative department for its solution immediately," he said.

He said that WASA has registered 58 water tanks to provide drinking water to all areas in the city. RDA/WASA chairman and vice-chairman in their speeches said that the Punjab government wanted to provide every facility to the public at their doorstep. We have formed special teams for this purpose and have provided them modern equipment like helmets, long shoes, torches, oxygen mask, gloves, safety belts.

واسا کے منیجنگ ڈائریکٹر راجہ شوکت نے بریفنگ دی کہ وہ وزیر اعلی پنجاب عثمان بزدار کے وژن پر کام کر رہے ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ حکومت پنجاب نے ہمیں 24 گھنٹوں میں عوام کو خدمات فراہم کرنے کی ہدایت کی ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا ، "حکومت پنجاب نے ایک ایپلیکیشن متعارف کروائی ہے جہاں عام شہری آسانی سے اپنے مسئلے کی وضاحت کرسکتے ہیں ، اور فوری طور پر اس کے حل کے لئے متعلقہ محکمہ کو شکایت بھیجی جائے گی۔"
انہوں نے بتایا کہ واسا نے شہر کے تمام علاقوں میں پینے کے پانی کی فراہمی کے لئے 58 واٹر ٹینکس کو رجسٹرڈ کیا ہے۔ آر ڈی اے / واسا کے چیئرمین اور وائس چیئرمین نے اپنی تقریروں میں کہا کہ حکومت پنجاب عوام کو ہر سہولت ان کی دہلیز پر مہیا کرنا چاہتی ہے۔ ہم نے اس مقصد کے لئے خصوصی ٹیمیں تشکیل دی ہیں اور انہیں جدید سازوسامان جیسے ، ہیلمٹ ، لمبے جوتے ، مشعلیں ، آکسیجن ماسک ، دستانے ، سیفٹی بیلٹ فراہم کیے ہیں۔
