Umar directs DC to destroy encroachments on storm drains in E-11 Islamabad

Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar has directed the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad to identify the legal and illegal constructions on all storm drains of Sector E-11 and prepare a formal plan by next week to demolish the encroachments as per the regular schedule as soon as possible.

The minister has given this direction while presiding a meeting on all legal and illegal encroachments on storm drains in Sector E-11 of Islamabad, and other issues of housing societies and their solutions.

The meeting was attended by Managing Director National Police Foundation, Chief Executive Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, and others.

Asad Umar also directed the IESCO to immediately address issues such as power supply to the residents of the National Police Foundation area and installation of electricity meters in other sectors as per need.

He also directed the CDA to identify the cemetery area for the E-11 sector as soon as possible and to pinpoint the encroachments on the Green Belts and Grounds and immediately take action against them.

The Deputy Commissioner Islamabad apprised the meeting that most of the residential societies in Sector E-11 have constructed illegal encroachments on stormwater drains, which are causing obstructions in the flow of rainwater.

He further said that these societies have also carried out illegal constructions on green belts and playgrounds.

وزیر نے یہ ہدایت اسلام آباد کے سیکٹر E-11 میں طوفانی نالوں پر تمام قانونی اور غیر قانونی تجاوزات ، اور ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیز کے دیگر مسائل اور ان کے حل کے حوالے سے ایک اجلاس کی صدارت کرتے ہوئے دی ہے۔

اجلاس میں منیجنگ ڈائریکٹر نیشنل پولیس فاؤنڈیشن ، چیف ایگزیکٹو اسلام آباد الیکٹرک سپلائی کمپنی (آئیسکو) ، ڈپٹی کمشنر اسلام آباد اور دیگر نے شرکت کی۔

اسد عمر نے آئیسکو کو یہ ہدایت بھی کی کہ وہ نیشنل پولیس فاؤنڈیشن کے علاقے کے رہائشیوں کو بجلی کی فراہمی اور ضرورت کے مطابق دیگر سیکٹرز میں بجلی کے میٹروں کی تنصیب جیسے مسائل کو فوری طور پر حل کرے۔

انہوں نے سی ڈی اے کو ای 11 سیکٹر کے لیے قبرستان کے علاقے کی جلد سے جلد نشاندہی کرنے اور گرین بیلٹس اور گراؤنڈز پر تجاوزات کی نشاندہی کرنے اور ان کے خلاف فوری کارروائی کرنے کی بھی ہدایت کی۔

ڈپٹی کمشنر اسلام آباد نے اجلاس کو بتایا کہ سیکٹر E-11 میں بیشتر رہائشی سوسائٹیز نے طوفانی پانی کے نالوں پر غیر قانونی تجاوزات تعمیر کر رکھی ہیں ، جو بارش کے پانی کے بہاؤ میں رکاوٹیں پیدا کر رہی ہیں۔

انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ ان سوسائٹیوں نے گرین بیلٹس اور کھیل کے میدانوں پر غیر قانونی تعمیرات بھی کی ہیں۔
