Traffic system disrupted on major highways in Lahore

Traffic jams were caused at Round Road, Bati Chowk, Pand Araiyan, Karol Ghati Rang Road,  Shahidra Chowk due to ongoing protest sequences in the city, while traffic problems remained in LDA Chowk, Shanghai Bridge, Khayaban Chowk, Ghazi Chowk, Egyptian Shah, Amir Chowk, besides Bagdichowk Green.

Traffic was also stuck at Town, Mohlanwal, Chongi Amrisdhu, Bhatta Chowk, Orphanage Chowk, Scheme Bend, Kamahe Road, Drogawala, Millpalli, Niazi Shaheed Chowk, Muslim Town Flyover, EME, Kacha Jail Road, Chohang, and Shah Kam Chowk.

Traffic jams led to long queues of vehicles causing inconvenience to citizens and also affecting traffic flow on the motorway. There were long queues of vehicles on Multan Road, dozens of policemen were injured due to stone pelting, and violence during the collision.

While ambulances were also not given way by the protesters, oxygen supply was also affected due to traffic jams on the internal, and external routes of the city, the supply of essential commodities could not enter the city.

Besides, the heavy police force was present on Shanghai Bridge Ferozepur Road to disperse the religious party workers. Stone pelting and shelling started between police and protesters for not vacating the road.

The shelling led to the protesters leaving shanghai road and kamahe road. After the shelling was over, the protesters returned to Shanghai Bridge and police had to return. Traffic flow was badly affected due to the demonstration.

 Business centers also remained closed due to shelling and stone-pelting and citizens faced severe hardships.

لاہور: شہر میں بڑی شاہراہوں پر احتجاج کی وجہ سے ٹریفک کا نظام درہم برہم ہوگیا، ٹریفک جام سے شہریوں کو مشکلات کا سامنا۔

شہر میں جاری مظاہروں کے سلسلے کی وجہ سے راؤنڈ روڈ ، پنڈ ارایان ، رنگ روڈ ، شاہدرہ چوک پر ٹریفک جام رہا جب کہ ایل ڈی اے چوک ، شنگھائی برج ، خیابان چوک ، غازی چوک ، مصری شاہ ، عامر چوک ، باغیچوک گرین کے علاوہ مہلن وال ، چونگی امریسوڈو ، بھٹہ چوک ، یتیم خانے چوک ، سکیم بینڈ ، کمھے روڈ ، ڈروگولا ، ملپلی ، نیازی شہید چوک ، مسلم ٹاؤن فلائی اوور ، ای ایم ای ، کچہ جیل روڈ ، چوہنگ ، اور شاہ کام چوک پر بھی ٹریفک بلاک رہی-

ٹریفک جام کے باعث گاڑیوں کی لمبی قطاریں لگ گئیں جس سے شہریوں کو تکلیف کا سامنا کرنا پڑا ، اور موٹر وے پر ٹریفک کی روانی بھی متاثر ہوئی۔ ملتان روڈ پر گاڑیوں کی لمبی قطاریں لگ گئیں ، تصادم کے دوران پتھراؤ ، اور تشدد کے باعث درجنوں پولیس اہلکار زخمی ہوگئے۔

جبکہ مظاہرین کی جانب سے ایمبولینسوں کو بھی راستہ نہیں دیا گیا تھا ، شہر کے اندرونی اور بیرونی راستوں پر ٹریفک جام کے باعث آکسیجن کی فراہمی بھی متاثر ہوئی ، اشیائے ضروریہ کی فراہمی شہر میں داخل نہیں ہوسکتی تھی۔

اس کے علاوہ مذہبی جماعت کے کارکنوں کو منتشر کرنے کے لئے شنگھائی پل فیروز پور روڈ پر پولیس کی بھاری نفری موجود تھی۔ سڑک خالی نہ کرنے پر پولیس اور مظاہرین کے مابین پتھراؤ اور گولہ باری شروع ہوگئی۔

اس گولہ باری کے نتیجے میں مظاہرین شنگھائی روڈ اور کامے روڈ چھوڑ گئے۔ گولہ باری ختم ہونے کے بعد مظاہرین شنگھائی پل واپس لوٹ گئے اور پولیس کو واپس جانا پڑا۔ مظاہرے کی وجہ سے ٹریفک کی روانی بری طرح متاثر ہوئی۔

گولہ باری اور پتھراؤ کے باعث کاروباری مراکز بھی بند رہے اور شہریوں کو شدید مشکلات کا سامنا کرنا پڑا۔
