Lahore: Due to the foolproof security provided to international cricketers of the Sri Lankan team, the city has been facing the worst traffic jams and mess around the Qaddafi Stadium. The ineffective diversion plans have been a major reason why the flow of traffic has been disturbed to a great extent resulting in traffic jams on important roads including Muslim Town Mor, Kalma Chowk, Wahdat Road, Mall Road, and Lower Mall.
Citizens had to cover the journey of minutes in hours and the only thing they received from the officials was an apology for the inconvenience. The officials have also urged the nation to cooperate for the revival of international cricket in Pakistan.
Lahore Police provided security cover to the Sri Lankan cricket team as well as cricket fans by deputing 13,000 cops under the supervision of three SSPs, 13 SPs, 42 DSPs, 131 inspectors, and 718 upper subordinates.
