Sukkur-Multan Motorway Crucial for Socio-Economic Development in Pakistan

Beijing: The foreign ministry’s spokesperson from China stated that the newly- constructed Sukkur-Multan Motorway is going to be crucial for the economic as well as social development in Pakistan.
Hua Chunying, the Spokesperson of Chinese Foreign Minister said during the regular briefing to a question that the project Sukkur-Multan Motorway in Pakistan is going to play a positive and constructive role for the social as well as economic development for both the countries i.e. China as well as Pakistan.
Also known as M5 in Pakistan, the 392-kilometer Sukkur-Multan Motorway is an essential part of the country’s Peshawar-Karachi Motorway project. The Sukkur-Multan Motorway project was completed two weeks ahead of the scheduled time of construction and development. This motorway is designed for speeding vehicles up to 120 kilometer per hour with a total investment of USD 2.89 billion only.
The Sukkur-Multan Motorway or M5 is made as per the latest infrastructural designs using modern technologies and equipment. The M5 is helping Pakistan in connecting the north region to the south region seamlessly, improving the transportation system and also facilitating in the social and economic development of the region.
As per the spokesperson Hua Chunying, the newly constructed motorway is one of the biggest means of transportation infrastructure under the CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor) project and also regarded as one of the fasted completed project till date. The project started back in August 2016 and its completion has paved a new ray of hope for new job opportunities for the local communities as well as technical personnel.
As per CSCEC (China State Construction Engineering Corporation), the Sukkur-Multan Motorway has created nearly 29,000 new job opportunities. The Chinese constructors have also built numerous roads, schools, wells, bridges and water channel for the locals to add more convenience to their lives.
