Skilled Youth Plays a Vital Role in Socioeconomic Development: Minister Aslam Iqbal

Highlighting the importance of a skilled workforce for the socio-economic development of the country, Punjab Minister for Industries, Commerce and Investment Mian Aslam Iqbal said on Tuesday that experts in skills training could contribute a lot to not only saving the planet but also offering skilled manpower to both public as well as private sectors.

Addressing the fresh graduates here at Hunar Rozgar Mela 2021, he said: “The provincial government’s efforts are aimed at having the best vocational and technical training system in accordance with the international standards.

Today, while seeing all these graduates, having a choice of the employment search as per the same demand-driven aspects of the industry, is the real showcasing of what we are aimed for.”

The Mela was organised by the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Punjab, the donor-funded TVET Sector Support Programme (SSP) implemented by National Vocational and Technical Training Commission, Deutsche Gesellschaftfür Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and Programme Migration for Development (PME).

The purpose of the Mela was to provide a platform to the job-seeking TVET graduates, undergraduates and returnees from the EU and GCC countries. These institutes have received assistance from the TVET SSP.

Aside from the 62.5 million Euro work in the TVET sector, the TVET SSP has recently launched a 5 million Euro reintegration of returnees in Pakistan initiative to support returning migrants and local populations in their socioeconomic reintegration through skills, career counselling, and business start-ups measures.

MNA Andleeb Abbas and Chief Advisor TEVTA Skills Policy Punjab Usman Khan were also present.

Through the event, the TEVTA Punjab successfully showcased the skills of training institutes in the province that are implementing competency-based training in industry priority economic sectors.

ملک کی سماجی و اقتصادی ترقی کے لیے ہنر مند افرادی قوت کی اہمیت کو اجاگر کرتے ہوئے، پنجاب کے وزیر صنعت، تجارت اور سرمایہ کاری میاں اسلم اقبال نے منگل کو کہا کہ ہنر مندی کی تربیت کے ماہرین نہ صرف کرہ ارض کو بچانے بلکہ عوام کو ہنر مند افرادی قوت فراہم کرنے میں بھی اہم کردار ادا کر سکتے ہیں۔

ہنر روزگار میلہ 2021 میں یہاں نئے گریجویٹس سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے، انہوں نے کہا: "صوبائی حکومت کی کوششوں کا مقصد بین الاقوامی معیارات کے مطابق بہترین پیشہ ورانہ اور تکنیکی تربیت کا نظام فراہم کرنا ہے۔

آج، ان تمام گریجویٹوں کو دیکھتے ہوئے، صنعت کے یکساں طلب سے چلنے والے پہلوؤں کے مطابق روزگار کی تلاش کا انتخاب کرنا، اس بات کی حقیقی نمائش ہے جس کے لیے ہمارا مقصد ہے۔"

اس میلے کا اہتمام ٹیکنیکل ایجوکیشن اینڈ ووکیشنل ٹریننگ اتھارٹی (TEVTA) پنجاب، ڈونر فنڈڈ TVET سیکٹر سپورٹ پروگرام (SSP) نے کیا جو نیشنل ووکیشنل اینڈ ٹیکنیکل ٹریننگ کمیشن، Deutsche Gesellschaftfür Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) اور پروگرام مائیگریشن فار ڈویلپمنٹ کے ذریعے نافذ کیا گیا تھا۔ پی ایم ای)۔

میلے کا مقصد ٹی وی ای ٹی کے گریجویٹ، انڈرگریجویٹ اور یورپی یونین اور جی سی سی ممالک سے واپس آنے والوں کو نوکری کے لیے ایک پلیٹ فارم فراہم کرنا تھا۔ ان اداروں کو (ٹی وی ای ٹی) ایس ایس پی سے مدد ملی ہے۔

TVET کے شعبے میں 62.5 ملین یورو کے کام کے علاوہ، TVET SSP نے حال ہی میں پاکستان میں واپس آنے والوں کے 5 ملین یورو کے دوبارہ انضمام کا آغاز کیا ہے تاکہ واپس آنے والے تارکین وطن اور مقامی آبادیوں کو ہنر، کیریئر کاؤنسلنگ، اور بزنس اسٹارٹ اپس کے ذریعے ان کے سماجی اقتصادی بحالی میں مدد ملے۔

ایم این اے عندلیب عباس اور چیف ایڈوائزر ٹیوٹا سکلز پالیسی پنجاب عثمان خان بھی موجود تھے۔

ایونٹ کے ذریعے، TEVTA پنجاب نے صوبے میں ان تربیتی اداروں کی مہارتوں کو کامیابی سے دکھایا جو صنعت کی ترجیحی اقتصادی شعبوں میں قابلیت پر مبنی تربیت کو نافذ کر رہے ہیں۔
