Proposal to introduce green building codes for housing societies

According to the news sources, the federal government wants the provincial governments to make it mandatory for the housing societies to develop green spaces at thirty percent of their total land.

Similarly, the housing societies can also introduce green building codes that can not only beautify their lands but also help fight increasing environmental degradation.

According to the details, the green building performs primarily focus on developing sustainable sites, increasing water and energy efficiency, reducing waste and emissions, using eco-friendly building materials, and improving indoor environmental quality more efficiently than conventional designs.

While talking to the media, an official said that an eco-friendly approach means a housing society that is developed on sustainability and an eco-friendly house is a place that is an environmentally low-impact house and mainly designed and built by using technology and materials that reduce carbon footprint and require less consumption of energy.

خبر رساں ذرائع کے مطابق وفاقی حکومت چاہتی ہے کہ صوبائی حکومتیں ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیز کے لیے اپنی کل اراضی کے تیس فیصد پر گرین اسپیسز تیار کرنے کو لازمی قرار دیں۔
اسی طرح ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیاں گرین بلڈنگ کوڈز بھی متعارف کروا سکتی ہیں جو نہ صرف اپنی زمینوں کو خوبصورت بنا سکتی ہیں بلکہ بڑھتی ہوئی ماحولیاتی انحطاط سے لڑنے میں بھی مدد کر سکتی ہیں۔
تفصیلات کے مطابق، گرین بلڈنگ بنیادی طور پر پائیدار مقامات کی ترقی، پانی اور توانائی کی کارکردگی میں اضافہ، فضلہ اور اخراج کو کم کرنے، ماحول دوست تعمیراتی مواد کے استعمال، اور روایتی ڈیزائنوں سے زیادہ مؤثر طریقے سے اندرونی ماحولیاتی معیار کو بہتر بنانے پر توجہ مرکوز کرتی ہے۔
