Islamabad: Prince William and Catherine (Kate) Elizabeth Middleton arrived in Pakistan late Monday evening for what is being termed as a historic tour. The royal couple landed at Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) Noor Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi as Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, officials from the foreign office, top government officials and British High Commissioner to Pakistan Thomas Drew welcomed them at the red carpet.
The royal couple was presented a guard of honour upon their arrival to Pakistan. This 5-day official tour of royal couple and their three children is expected to improve Pakistan’s international image and it should be noted that it is the first tour of the royal family to Pakistan in the last 13 years. The royal couple will also meet Prime Minister Imran Khan and President ArifAlvi today.
