Lahore: According to the news sources, the Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) has given 48 hours to private hospitals for making the arrangements of treating COVID-19 patients.
The private healthcare establishments have been directed to submit compliance reports to the commission. Along with providing guidance to the private hospitals, the PHC has also carried out special inspections of another 10 hospitals by following the already-provided checklist.
The reports suggest that the hospitals were checked for the number of isolation beds and rooms, high-dependency units, trained staff, essential equipment, medicines, and facilities at the extensive care units.
A spokesperson for the Commission said the PHC teams were also guiding the hospitals for further improving the treatment facilities. “So far the Commission has carried out special inspections of 43 public-sector and private hospitals, and also sent the reports to the departments concerned,” he added.
The growing number of coronavirus patients in the country has led to the shortage of beds and isolation centers in public hospitals and considering the graph, the PHC is preparing beforehand to control the worse situation as it arises.
