LDA to construct 2 more underpasses in the city

The LDA has included projects in the budget for the fiscal year 2021-22. Keeping view the rising traffic problems, the decision was taken to build two more underpasses under the direction of the Punjab Chief Minister.

Underpasses have been designed at Akbar Chowk and Samanabad Chowk. LDA’s engineering department started a design study of Akbar Chowk.

Two-lane underpasses will be constructed on both sides at Akbar Chowk. LDA will complete the construction of the underpass at Akbar Chowk Junction with its own resources.

The traffic system from Karim Market to Peco Road will be re-modeled through Akbar Chowk Junction. An estimate of Rs1.20 billion has been made for the construction of the underpass. The underpass will benefit 248,000 people directly and indirectly

An underpass has also been proposed at Samanabad Chowk on Multan Road in view of traffic congestion.

The flyover proposal was rejected due to the elevated track of the Orange train.

As many as Rs1.20 billion has been proposed for the construction of an underpass at Samanabad Chowk.

لاہور ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی نے شہر میں مزید 2 انڈر پاسوں کی تعمیر سمیت مزید ترقیاتی منصوبوں پر عمل کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا ہے۔

ایل ڈی اے نے مالی سال 2021-22 کے بجٹ میں منصوبوں کو شامل کیا ہے۔ ٹریفک کے بڑھتے ہوئے مسائل کو مدنظر رکھتے ہوئے وزیر اعلی پنجاب کی ہدایت پر دو اور انڈر پاس بنانے کا فیصلہ کیا گیا۔

انڈر پاس کو اکبر چوک اور سمن آباد چوک پر ڈیزائن کیا گیا ہے۔ ایل ڈی اے کے انجینئرنگ ڈیپارٹمنٹ نے اکبر چوک کے ڈیزائن اسٹڈی کا آغاز کیا۔

اکبر چوک پر دونوں طرف دو لین انڈر پاس تعمیر کیے جائیں گے۔ ایل ڈی اے اپنے وسائل سے اکبر چوک جنکشن پر انڈر پاس کی تعمیر مکمل کرے گی۔

اکبر چوک جنکشن کے ذریعہ کریم مارکیٹ سے پیکو روڈ تک ٹری��ک نظام دوبارہ تشکیل دیا جائے گا۔ انڈر پاس کی تعمیر کیلئے ایک ارب 20 کروڑ روپے کا تخمینہ لگایا گیا ہے۔ انڈر پاس سے بالواسطہ اور بلاواسطہ 248،000 افراد کو فائدہ ہوگا

ٹریفک کی بھیڑ کے پیش نظر ملتان روڈ پر سمن آباد چوک پر انڈر پاس کی تجویز بھی دی گئی ہے۔

اورنج ٹرین کے بلند ٹریک کی وجہ سے فلائی اوور کی تجویز کو مسترد کردیا گیا۔

سمن آباد چوک پر انڈر پاس کی تعمیر کیلئے 1 ارب 20 کروڑ روپے کی تجویز دی گئی ہے۔
