KP govt. finalize plan for 4 integrated tourism zones

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has finalized the master plan and feasibility study for the establishment of four different Integrated Tourism Zones (ITZs) to develop international standards tourist spots.

These ITZs include Ghanool in Mansehra, Mankiyal in Swat, Madaklasht in Chitral, and Thandiyani in Abbottabad.

Master plan and feasibility study of ITZs were presented to Chief Minister Mahmood Khan at a meeting here on Thursday, said our source.

The chief minister agreed to the master plan which would soon be presented to the World Bank for implementation.

Briefing the meeting about these ITZs, it was informed that Ghanool ITZ would be established on 480 Kanal, Mankiyal on 754 Kanal, Madaklasht on 540 Kanal whereas Thandyani ITZ would be established on 640 Kanal of land.

These ITZs are expected to create 16,000 direct and indirect job opportunities and to attract investment worth USD 2.8 billion.

It was decided in the meeting to present these ITZs projects in the upcoming Dubai Expo 2020 to attract foreign investment.

The major components of the ITZs project include roads, pathways, tracks, water supply, solid waste management, stable supply of electricity, and infrastructure development.

Talking on the occasion, the chief minister said there was a huge potential for the promotion of tourism in KP, and the provincial government was working to develop the tourism sector as a full-fledged industry.

He termed the completion of the master plan for the establishment of ITZs as an important development and hoped that the tourism sector of the province would be developed along modern lines with the establishment of these ITZs.

ان آئی ٹی زیڈز میں مانسہرہ میں غنول ، سوات میں مانکیال ، چترال میں مڈکلاشٹ اور ایبٹ آباد میں ٹھنڈیانی شامل ہیں۔

ہمارے ذرائع نے بتایا کہ آئی ٹی زیڈز کا ماسٹر پلان اور فزیبلٹی اسٹڈی جمعرات کو یہاں ایک میٹنگ میں وزیراعلیٰ محمود خان کو پیش کیا گیا۔

وزیراعلیٰ نے ماسٹر پلان پر اتفاق کیا جسے جلد ہی عالمی بینک کے نفاذ کے لیے پیش کیا جائے گا۔

اجلاس کو ان آئی ٹی زیڈز کے بارے میں بریفنگ دیتے ہوئے بتایا گیا کہ غنول آئی ٹی زیڈ 480 کنال ، مانکیال 754 کنال ، مڈکلاشٹ 540 کنال پر جبکہ تھنڈیانی آئی ٹی زیڈ 640 کنال اراضی پر قائم کیا جائے گا۔

توقع ہے کہ یہ آئی ٹی زیڈز 16،000 براہ راست اور بالواسطہ روزگار کے مواقع پیدا کریں گے اور 2.8 بلین امریکی ڈالر کی سرمایہ کاری کو راغب کریں گے۔

اجلاس میں غیر ملکی سرمایہ کاری کو راغب کرنے کے لیے آئندہ دبئی ایکسپو 2020 میں یہ آئی ٹی زیڈ پراجیکٹس پیش کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا گیا۔

ITZs پروجیکٹ کے اہم اجزاء میں سڑکیں ، راستے ، ٹریک ، پانی کی فراہمی ، سالڈ ویسٹ مینجمنٹ ، بجلی کی مستحکم فراہمی اور بنیادی ڈھانچے کی ترقی شامل ہیں۔

اس موقع پر گفتگو کرتے ہوئے وزیراعلیٰ نے کہا کہ کے پی میں سیاحت کے فروغ کے وسیع امکانات ہیں اور صوبائی حکومت سیاحت کے شعبے کو ایک مکمل صنعت کے طور پر ترقی دینے کے لیے کام کر رہی ہے۔

انہوں نے آئی ٹی زیڈز کے قیام کے ماسٹر پلان کی تکمیل کو ایک اہم پیش رفت قرار دیا اور امید ظاہر کی کہ ان آئی ٹی زیڈز کے قیام سے صوبے کے سیاحت کے شعبے کو جدید خطوط پر استوار کیا جائے گا۔
