HEC to enhance sports facilities in universities under Kamyab Jawan Programme

The first Steering Committee of the project entitled, “Kamyab Jawan Sports Academies (High-Performance Sports Academies and Resource Centres) National Youth Games” was held at the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Secretariat. It was chaired by the Executive Director HEC Dr. Shaista Sohail.

During the meeting, the Executive Director HEC briefed the participants on the projects planned under the umbrella of the Kamyab Jawan programme. She underlined that the project is aimed to develop facilities and infrastructure of Sports Academies, including a separate lecture/meeting hall and hostel/dormitory facility for at least 50 to 60 players and six members of the coaching/support staff.

These facilities, she added, will into full-time modern training and resource centres. She emphasised that the long-term objective is to develop HEC’s team to compete at national and international competitions. Dr. Shaista Sohail said that the project will produce professional players in particular sports and help initiate youth sports movement and develop a sports culture.

The sports academies to be established in the higher education institutions across the county will provide scientific support and modern skills to players for developing sports in Pakistan, simultaneously promoting sound health, safety, and physical fitness. She informed the meeting that the capital cost of the project was Rs. 1,937.429 million with FEC Rs. 103.851 million, while the execution period of the scheme is 36 months.

She said that the Sports Academies will provide opportunities for youth to get involved in physical activities as a participant and as a professional player, coaches, leaders, and volunteers. She maintained that the academies will provide cutting-edge expertise to champion players to further improve their skills scientifically.

She asserted that the Sports Academies will play a key role in player development considering fitness, psychological and biomechanical parameters, including coaching and training.

ہائر ایجوکیشن کمیشن (ایچ ای سی) سیکرٹریٹ میں "کامیاب جوان سپورٹس اکیڈمیز (ہائی پرفارمنس سپورٹس اکیڈمیز اور ریسورس سینٹرز) نیشنل یوتھ گیمز" کے عنوان سے منصوبے کی پہلی اسٹیئرنگ کمیٹی منعقد ہوئی۔ جس کی صدارت ایگزیکٹو ڈائریکٹر ایچ ای سی ڈاکٹر شائستہ سہیل نے کی۔

میٹنگ کے دوران ، ایگزیکٹو ڈائریکٹر ایچ ای سی نے شرکاء کو کامیاب جوان پروگرام کی چھتری کے تحت منصوبوں کے بارے میں آگاہ کیا۔ انہوں نے اس بات پر زور دیا کہ اس پروجیکٹ کا مقصد اسپورٹس اکیڈمیوں کی سہولیات اور انفراسٹرکچر تیار کرنا ہے ، جس میں کم از کم 50 سے 60 کھلاڑیوں اور کوچنگ/سپورٹ سٹاف کے چھ ممبروں کے لیے علیحدہ لیکچر/میٹنگ ہال اور ہاسٹل/ڈارمیٹری کی سہولت شامل ہے۔

انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ یہ سہولیات کل وقتی جدید تربیت اور وسائل کے مراکز میں شامل ہوں گی۔ انہوں نے زور دیا کہ طویل مدتی مقصد قومی اور بین الاقوامی مقابلوں میں حصہ لینے کے لیے ایچ ای سی کی ٹیم تیار کرنا ہے۔ ڈاکٹر شائستہ سہیل نے کہا کہ یہ پروجیکٹ خاص طور پر کھیلوں میں پیشہ ور کھلاڑی پیدا کرے گا اور نوجوانوں کی کھیلوں کی تحریک شروع کرنے اور کھیلوں کی ثقافت کو فروغ دینے میں مدد دے گا۔

کاؤنٹی بھر میں اعلیٰ تعلیمی اداروں میں قائم ہونے والی اسپورٹس اکیڈمیاں کھلاڑیوں کو پاکستان میں کھیلوں کی نشوونما ، بیک وقت صحت ، حفاظت اور جسمانی تندرستی کو فروغ دینے کے لیے سائنسی مدد اور جدید مہارتیں فراہم کریں گی۔ انہوں نے اجلاس کو بتایا کہ منصوبے کی کیپٹل لاگت روپے ہے۔ FEC کے ساتھ 1،937.429 ملین روپے 103.851 ملین ، جبکہ اسکیم پر عملدرآمد کی مدت 36 ماہ ہے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ اسپورٹس اکیڈمیز نوجوانوں کو بطور شرکاء اور پیشہ ور کھلاڑی ، کوچ ، لیڈر اور رضاکار کے طور پر جسمانی سرگرمیوں میں شامل ہونے کے مواقع فراہم کرے گی۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اکیڈمیاں چیمپئن کھلاڑیوں کو سائنسی طور پر اپنی صلاحیتوں کو مزید بہتر بنانے کے لیے جدید مہارت فراہم کریں گی۔

انہوں نے زور دے کر کہا کہ اسپورٹس اکیڈمیز کھلاڑیوں کی نشوونما میں فٹنس ، نفسیاتی اور بائیو مکینیکل پیرامیٹرز بشمول کوچنگ اور ٹریننگ پر کلیدی کردار ادا کریں گی۔
