Green Line bus service to meet standards of best mass-transit services: Governor Ismail

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail on Monday took part in the ‘dry run’ of the Green Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Karachi by traveling in one of the buses of the upcoming modern mass transit system of the city from the Sea Breeze Plaza till the Hyderi Market in North Nazimabad.

Legislators belonging to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) accompanied the Sindh governor during the trial run of the Green Line bus service in Karachi. They included Leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh, Khurrum Sher Zaman, and Aftab Siddiqui.

Officials of the Sindh Infrastructure Development Company briefed the governor about the progress in launching the Green Line bus service in Karachi to facilitate the daily commute of the public.

Ismail was informed about certain features of the Green Line service, including the automatic location system, real-time information about passengers, a system of surveillance cameras to monitor, an auto-door system, modular seats, air-conditioning system, and a digital screen.

Talking to media persons on the occasion, the governor said he had taken part in the test run of the bus service and the rest of the work on the Green Line mass transit project would soon be completed to make it functional for the general public.

He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan would come to Karachi to formally inaugurate the Green Line bus service. According to Ismail, the Green Line BRT had been built in a manner to meet the standards of the best mass transit facilities all over the world.

The governor told media persons that the Green Line bus service had been designed keeping in view the daily commuting requirements of the people of the city.

He added that a sum of Rs35 billion had been spent on the project.

گورنر سندھ عمران اسماعیل نے پیر کو کراچی میں گرین لائن بس ریپڈ ٹرانزٹ (بی آر ٹی) کے 'ڈرائی رن' میں حصہ لیا اور شہر کے آنے والے جدید ماس ٹرانزٹ سسٹم کی بسوں میں سے ایک سی بریز پلازہ سے سفر کیا۔

کراچی میں گرین لائن بس سروس کے ٹرائل رن کے دوران پاکستان تحریک انصاف (پی ٹی آئی) سے تعلق رکھنے والے قانون ساز گورنر سندھ کے ہمراہ تھے۔ ان میں سندھ اسمبلی میں قائد حزب اختلاف حلیم عادل شیخ ، خرم شیر زمان اور آفتاب صدیقی شامل تھے۔

سندھ انفراسٹرکچر ڈویلپمنٹ کمپنی کے عہدیداروں نے گورنر کو کراچی میں گرین لائن بس سروس شروع کرنے کے حوالے سے پیش رفت کے بارے میں آگاہ کیا تاکہ عوام کے روزانہ سفر کو آسان بنایا جا سکے۔

اسماعیل کو گرین لائن سروس کی بعض خصوصیات کے بارے میں آگاہ کیا گیا ، جس میں خودکار لوکیشن سسٹم ، مسافروں کے بارے میں ریئل ٹائم معلومات ، نگرانی کے لیے نگرانی کے کیمرے کا نظام ، آٹو ڈور سسٹم ، ماڈیولر سیٹیں ، ایئر کنڈیشننگ سسٹم اور ڈیجیٹل سکرین شامل ہیں۔

اس موقع پر میڈیا کے نمائندوں سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے گورنر نے کہا کہ انہوں نے بس سروس کے ٹیسٹ رن میں حصہ لیا ہے اور گرین لائن ماس ٹرانزٹ منصوبے پر باقی کام جلد مکمل کر لیا جائے گا تاکہ اسے عام لوگوں کے لیے فعال بنایا جا سکے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ وزیراعظم عمران خان گرین لائن بس سروس کا باقاعدہ افتتاح کرنے کراچی آئیں گے۔ اسماعیل کے مطابق ، گرین لائن بی آر ٹی دنیا بھر میں بہترین ماس ٹرانزٹ سہولیات کے معیار کو پورا کرنے کے لیے بنایا گیا تھا۔

گورنر نے میڈیا والوں کو بتایا کہ گرین لائن بس سروس شہر کے لوگوں کی روزانہ کی ضروریات کو مدنظر رکھتے ہوئے ڈیزائن کی گئی ہے۔

انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ اس منصوبے پر 35 ارب روپے خرچ کیے گئے ہیں۔
