Government acquires 32,073 acres land for Diamer Basha Dam project

The government has so far acquired 32,073 acres of land for the important Diamer Basha Dam project which is expected to be completed by April 2029 and would meet the growing water and power needs of the country. The acquired land is around 90 percent of the total required 35,924 acres of land for the project.

The official information revealed on Sunday that the total estimated cost of the Diamer Basha Dam project is Rs.1406,122 million which includes PC-I (acquisition of land and resettlement Rs.175,436 million, PC-I (Dam Part Rs. 479,686 million while the cost for PC-I (Power Generation Facilities yet to be approved) is Rs. 751,000 million.

Similarly, the amount spent by previous governments on the Dam is Rs. 86,685 million under acquisition of land and resettlement (AL&R) since 2009-10 while the present government has spent Rs. 30,273 million under AL&R and Rs. 51,555 million under dam part.

The total amount of Rs. 116,158 million has been spent under AL&R and Rs. 51,555 million under the Dam's part. The information further revealed that the Supreme Court of Pakistan is the custodian of the Dam Fund. The total amount of the Funds collected for the project so far is Rs. 12,934,008,868 up to July 15, 2021.

Moreover, thanks to the present government this is giving priority to the completion of mega power projects and had earmarked Rs. 15,500 million for the Dam part and Rs. 7,000 million for AL&R during the fiscal year 2020-21.

اسلام آباد: حکومت نے دیامر بھاشا ڈیم پراجیکٹ کے لیے 32،073 ایکڑ اراضی حاصل کی ہے۔ حکومت نے اب تک اہم دیامر بھاشا ڈیم منصوبے کے لیے 32،073 ایکڑ اراضی حاصل کی ہے جو کہ اپریل 2029 تک مکمل ہونے کی توقع ہے اور یہ ملک کی بڑھتی ہوئی پانی اور بجلی کی ضروریات کو پورا کرے گی۔ حاصل شدہ زمین اس پروجیکٹ کے لیے درکار 35��924 ایکڑ اراضی کا 90 فیصد ہے۔ سرکاری معلومات نے اتوار کو انکشاف کیا کہ دیامر بھاشا ڈیم پراجیکٹ کی کل تخمینہ لاگت 1406122 ملین روپے ہے جس میں PC-I (زمین کا حصول اور آبادکاری 1،75،436 ملین روپے ، PC-I (ڈیم پارٹ 479،686 ملین روپے جبکہ PC-I (پاور جنریشن سہولیات کی منظوری ابھی باقی ہے) کی لاگت 751،000 ملین روپے ہے۔ اسی طرح پچھلی حکومتوں کی جانب سے ڈیم پر خرچ کی جانے والی رقم روپے ہے۔ اراضی کے حصول اور آبادکاری کے تحت 86،685 ملین (AL&R) 2009-10 سے جبکہ موجودہ حکومت نے AL&R کے تحت 30،273 ملین اور روپے۔ ڈیم کے حصے کے تحت 51،555 ملین روپے خرچ کیے ہیں۔ روپے کی کل رقم 116،158 ملین AL&R اور روپے کے تحت خرچ کیے گئے ہیں۔ ڈیم کے حصے کے تحت 51،555 ملین۔ معلومات میں مزید انکشاف ہوا ہے کہ سپریم کورٹ آف پاکستان ڈیم فنڈ کی نگران ہے۔ اس منصوبے کے لیے اب تک جمع کیے گئے فنڈز کی کل رقم 12،934،008،868 روپے ہے۔ مزید یہ کہ موجودہ حکومت کا شکریہ کہ یہ میگا پاور پراجیکٹس کی تکمیل کو ترجیح دے رہی ہے ، ڈیم کے حصے کے لیے 15،500 ملین روپے مالی سال 2020-21 کے دوران AL&R کے لیے 7،000 ملین۔
