ECNEC Approves Rs190bn Road Infrastructure Projects

A meeting of Ecnec, chai­red by Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar and attended by Minister for Industries Khusro Bakhtiar and federal secretaries, approved the Pakistan Optical Remote Sensing Satellite (PRSS-02) project of Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) worth Rs27.913bn.

The project will help in the building of an indigenous capacity in the fields of space/satellite technology and its applications, institutional capacity building of Suparco, and promoting high-tech research and development activities in the country. This project will contribute to the acquisition of self-reliance in satellite technologies in Pakistan.

Ecnec approved the Sialkot (Sambrial)-Kharian motorway project submitted by the Ministry of Communication, along with directives for the National Highway Authority (NHA) to present a progress report on the development of the business model to the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet.

The project envisages the construction of a 69km long, four-lane wide Sambrial- Kharian motorway with structures to be constructed for six lanes. An official announcement said the meeting gave approval to the New Gwadar International Airport (NGIA) second revised project.

The revised project envisages the construction of NGIA along with allied facilities over a piece of land already acquired. The NGIA will replace the existing airport at Gwadar which has a small terminal building with limited capacity.

The new airport will be suitable for bigger aircraft like Airbus A-380 and Boeing-747 & 777 for international and domestic services.

Ecnec also approved a project of the Ministry of Energy on the Asian Development Bank-funded Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) in Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco), with a directive for starting the project without any delay as a pilot project and including other electric supplying companies.

وزیر برائے منصوبہ بندی و ترقی اسد عمر کی زیر صدارت ایکنک کے اجلاس میں وزیر صنعت خسرو بختیار اور وفاقی سیکرٹریز نے شرکت کی جس میں سپیس اینڈ اپر ایٹماسفیئر ریسرچ کمیشن (سپرکو) کے پاکستان آپٹیکل ریموٹ سینسنگ سیٹلائٹ (PRSS-02) منصوبے کی منظوری دی گئی۔ جس کی مالیت 27.913 بلین روپے ہے۔

یہ منصوبہ خلائی / سیٹلائٹ ٹکنالوجی اور اس کی ایپلی کیشنز، سپارکو کی ادارہ جاتی صلاحیت کی تعمیر اور ملک میں ہائی ٹیک ریسرچ اور ترقیاتی سرگرمیوں کو فروغ دینے میں مقامی صلاحیت کی تعمیر میں مدد کرے گا۔ یہ منصوبہ پاکستان میں سیٹلائٹ ٹیکنالوجیز میں خود انحصاری کے حصول میں معاون ثابت ہوگا۔

ایکنک نے وزارت مواصلات کی طرف سے پیش کردہ سیالکوٹ (سمبڑیال) کھاریاں موٹر وے منصوبے کی منظوری دے دی، ساتھ ہی نیشنل ہائی وے اتھارٹی (این ایچ اے) کو بزنس ماڈل کی ترقی کے بارے میں پیش رفت رپورٹ کابینہ کی اقتصادی رابطہ کمیٹی (ای سی سی) کو پیش کرنے کی ہدایت کے ساتھ-

اس منصوبے میں 69 کلومیٹر طویل، چار لین چوڑی سمبڑیال کھاریاں موٹروے کی تعمیر کا تصور کیا گیا ہے جس کے ڈھانچے چھ لین کے لیے بنائے جائیں گے۔ ایک سرکاری اعلان میں کہا گیا ہے کہ اجلاس میں نیو گوادر انٹرنیشنل ایئرپورٹ (این جی آئی اے) کے دوسرے نظرثانی شدہ منصوبے کی منظوری دی گئی۔

نظرثانی شدہ پروجیکٹ میں پہلے سے حاصل کی گئی زمین کے ایک ٹکڑے پر متعلقہ سہولیات کے ساتھ NGIA کی تعمیر کا تصور کیا گیا ہے۔ این جی آئی اے گوادر کے موجودہ ہوائی اڈے کی جگہ لے لے گا جس کی محدود صلاحیت کے ساتھ چھوٹی ٹرمینل عمارت ہے۔

نیا ہوائی اڈہ بڑے طیاروں جیسے ایئربس اے-380 اور بوئنگ 747 اور 777 بین الاقوامی اور گھریلو خدمات کے لیے موزوں ہوگا۔

Ecnec نے اسلام آباد الیکٹرک سپلائی کمپنی (Iesco) میں ایشین ڈویلپمنٹ بینک کے فنڈڈ ایڈوانسڈ میٹرنگ انفراسٹرکچر (AMI) پر وزارت توانائی کے ایک منصوبے کی بھی منظوری دی، اس منصوبے کو بغیر کسی تاخیر کے ایک پائلٹ پراجیکٹ کے طور پر شروع کرنے کی ہدایت کے ساتھ اور دیگر الیکٹرک بھی شامل ہیں۔
