Dispute resolved between KMC & KDA over parking areas in Karachi

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali chaired a meeting to resolve disputes between the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) over parking areas in Karachi and directed them to withdraw their cases from courts.

The meeting was attended by Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah, Administrator KMC Murtaza Wahab, Principal Secretary to CM Sajid Jamal Abro, Special Secretary Local Government Khalid Chachar, DG KDA Asif Memon, and Director KDA Khalid Masroor.

KMC Administrator Murtaza Wahab told the meeting that a dispute between the KMC and the KDA was going on in a court over the ownership of a parking lot at Bara-Dari, which has been rented out to a local hotel for an Rs3.5 million annual rent.

Local Government Minister Nasir Shah said the plot belonged to the KMC and the defunct city-district government had constructed the underground parking lot. He added that in those days the KDA was a part of the city government and that the matter had been in court for many years and the rent was being deposited in the court.

At this, the CM decided that the land on which the underground parking had been developed belonged to the KMC; therefore, the area should be taken over by it.

کراچی: وزیراعلیٰ سندھ کی زیر صدارت کراچی میں پارکنگ ایریاز پر کے ایم سی اور کے ڈی اے کے درمیان مسئلہ حل کرنے کے لیے اجلاس قایم کیا گیا-

وزیراعلیٰ سندھ سید مراد علی کی زیر صدارت کراچی میٹروپولیٹن کارپوریشن (کے ایم سی) اور کراچی ڈیولپمنٹ اتھارٹی (کے ڈی اے) کے درمیان کراچی میں پارکنگ ایریاز کے تنازعات کو حل کرنے کے لیے اجلاس ہوا اور انہیں عدالتوں سے اپنے مقدمات واپس لینے کی ہدایت کی۔

اجلاس میں وزیر بلدیات ناصر حسین شاہ ، ایڈمنسٹریٹر کے ایم سی مرتضی وہاب ، وزیراعلیٰ کے پرنسپل سیکرٹری ساجد جمال ابڑو ، خصوصی سیکرٹری لوکل گورنمنٹ خالد چاچڑ ، ڈی جی کے ڈی اے آصف میمن اور ڈائریکٹر کے ڈی اے خالد مسرور نے شرکت کی۔

کے ایم سی کے ایڈمنسٹریٹر مرتضیٰ وہاب نے اجلاس کو بتایا کہ کے ایم سی اور کے ڈی اے کے درمیان بارہ دری میں پارکنگ کی ملکیت پر ایک عدالت میں تنازعہ چل رہا ہے ، جسے مقامی ہوٹل کو ساڑھے تین لاکھ روپے میں کرایہ پر دیا گیا ہے۔

وزیر بلدیات ناصر شاہ نے کہا کہ پلاٹ کے ایم سی کا ہے اور شہر کی ضلعی حکومت نے زیر زمین پارکنگ کی تعمیر کی ہے۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ ان دنوں میں کے ڈی اے سٹی گورنمنٹ کا حصہ تھا ، اور یہ معاملہ کئی سالوں سے عدالت میں تھا اور کرایہ عدالت میں جمع کیا جا رہا تھا۔

اس پر ، وزیراعلیٰ نے فیصلہ کیا کہ جس زمین پر زیر زمین پارکنگ تیار کی گئی ہے وہ کے ایم سی کی ہے۔ اس لیے اس علاقے کو اپنے قبضے میں لے لیا جائے۔
