COVID vaccination for senior citizens to start from March 10: Asad Umar

The minister made these remarks in a tweet and said that the decision is taken in wake of the increasing cases in the country. According to the reports, more than 1,700 cases have been recorded for the second straight day.

Asad Umar also said that the vaccinations would be done in reverse order by age. What that means is the oldest people would be vaccinated first.

Pakistan has seen an uptick in daily infections as of late. The country recorded 1,780 cases, the highest since January 29, according to the NCOC’s daily situation report. Active infections across the country stood at 18,055.

According to the statistics, the cases have been alarming in Punjab province which represented 1,044 of the day’s infections, with 646 from Lahore alone.

اسد عمر نے یہ بھی کہا کہ یہ ٹیکے عمر کے لحاظ سے ریورس آرڈر میں لگائے جائیں گے۔ اس کا مطلب یہ ہے کہ سب سے زیادہ عمر کے لوگوں کو پہلے ٹیکے لگائے جائیں گے۔
